Well, well, GSO has officially gotten at least 1 inch at snow. The little "storm" that could for the Triad it is.

http://weather.noaa....rrent/KGSO.html

I think it's the big storm that couldn't. I've got 2 dustings today, the day of from work today and tomorrow, and seen some pretty flakes. Not bad in the big scheme of things but it's tough when 20 miles from here there is 3+ inches, and model's were showing 3-7 inches.

Same here JQ, have a dusting of IP on the ground, and the pinging is evident on the windows. 30/18 @ PGV as of 7pm with -SN, although the AWOS is jacked in that it can not differentiate between SN and IP, this is IP.

Hmm now getting snow. Weird stuff? Road is starting to get covered...well at least the parking lot.

Mencken_Fan:... I'm also in Wilmington but my weather seems noticeably different than yours. You keep getting snow that I don't see!

I'm only 5 miles from the ocean on Cape Fear but temps this morning were plenty cold throughout the snow event before the precipitation suddenly shut-off at 10:15am. I get 2" but surrounding areas get double and triple that? (I did notice though, a particularly dry sector along the coast on radar here...)

Anyway, since 10:15 am I've seen only a few flakes...a few pellets of sleet...and for the last hour just a drizzle of rain.

Effectively, this storm ended at 10:15 this morning for the immediate coast of Cape Fear.

See your 5 miles from the Ocean Front, I'm @ the State Ports(Inland alil more).. difference of roughly 10 miles......

Lordy look @ Surf City, 7 inches on the beach itself, yet, acrossthe river, southwards into brunswick Co beaches, on down to lil river, MB didn't see any snow at ALL?? It was what,,,,,, 1:15 for that, (MY), post? It DID NOT stop snowing *Here* until around 2 PM, then switched to freezing rain/IP....

look at Many/MANY posts where difference in inches and FEET or getting nothing can/does occurs with-in 5 miles or so, even less....

Like when I King Fish off the pier, It'll be raining cats/dogs in Wilmington proper, but the sun is still out @ the beach and doesn't see a drop..

Currently still receiving FR, nice glaze forming on the trees etc, guessing between 1/16 to 1/8" on the trees etc now,

Current Obs, temps are 30.2 light freezing rain/Mist...

Bigger flakes. Still light snow, but not bad.

Tell you whats amazing this winter, Sugar/Beech just got 20+ inches of snow FRI/SAT. That was like the 3rd time Joe and those northern mtn guys have done that. I may be wrong here, but the upslope is gonna be another whopper later on tomorrow and through Thursday a.m again. Easily another 12-18 up there. You should get in on this as well or atleast up in Madison and northern Buncombe a few inches Id think.

Next band heading our way looks quite healthy but threatening for a good bit of sleet. Hopefully that's all it stays as instead of a mix of IP/Frz. rain. We'll see when it gets here.

Heavy band of a mixture of sleet and snow here in Western Lincoln County. Radar shows a gap, possibly more in about another 15 minutes or so.

I can't keep with Joe, but I have 28.5 for the year so far and the airport is at 18.9, which after 40 inches last year is unreal.

Joe is in another world, which by the way, we haven't heard from him today, have we?
