Yep. A very good forecast. Between you, Foothills, Raleigh WX, Brandon(and MANY others), I get some great info.

Do you think we will get much from the NWFS? I was thrilled with the last, but I suppose that was clipper enhanced.

I don't think it will be as potent as the last NWFS, but it could be decent around the usual places. I wouldn't wager much more than 1" in the greater Asheville area though.

Are you seeing any (very small) sleet mixing in with your snow. When it's real light I'm getting sleet, but when the intensity picks up it turns to light snow...27/22

I have been checking about every 5 minutes. I haven't heard any sleet or seen any. There has been a steady moderate snow for the past 30 minutes now.

Just when the radar returns appeared ready to clear my area, the heaviest snow of the day starts. Street and ground covered in 15 minutes. Much larger flakes - moderate snow. Humidity finally up to 82%. I guess that is why snow is finally reaching the ground...

and now that is stopping... just not going to happen for us in the triad! Hope we can catch the next one....

I was getting a very light snow and sleet, but now it's transitioned to some sleet and a moderate snow with large nickel-sized flakes. Like triadwx said, it this keeps up it'll accumulate fast.

The RUC did say the lifting would start around this time in the Triad, so perhaps it will verify....

We've had a sustained flizzard for maybe the past two hours now. At least I'm seeing flakes finally. Roofs, mulched landscaping, and sidewalks are white. Grass is not quite covered completely, but might be within the next hour or so if the current rate continues. According to latest NAM and GFS, I might be able to get 2" to 4" of snow out of this before transitioning to freezing drizzle. And I wouldn't complain of a little ice just for the excitement of it all.

I'm a bit underwhelmed, but I shouldn't be picky considering the circumstances.

Thank you  I hope so too...lol. I don't mind not having power for a bit...It's not having internet once the cell phone dies that will get me

I just looked at my power company's outage map.. SCE&G, and not 1 customer is out in Lexington and less than 3000 the whole state. Pretty amazing stuff. So glad we got the snow instead of a ton of ice.

Seems like points east and west of RDU are in the 80's and 90% humidity range while RDU is stuck in the 40% range... Seems like we are pretty much screwed here. Oh well.. here hoping this wasn't our last chance this year..

Where's my cliff!!!? hehe :arrowhead:

Also, congrats to all who got some snow out of this!
