UNCCmetgrad
Been watching the snow fall all morning. 3.8 inches so far with light snow continuing to fall. Looks like another push of moisture coming up from the south. Hoping to get maybe another inch or so.

magpiemaniac
I just wanted to take a moment to share what is truly the awesomeness of this snow storm. As I type, my kids are suiting up for some cool sledding action.
Itunis
Yeah it doesn't really make a difference but it just doesn't look good to see them not keep on top of things. You never see that type of stuff from gsp. They always update if it's warranted and they stay on top of things. I hate to keep harping on ffc since we have absolutezero from ffc here but this type of stuff is why ffc has the reputation it does. At any rate, unbelievable storm. Storm of a lifetime here to be honest. The huge impacts it has had over such a wide area, along with areas that don't normally even see winter weather or freezing rain, It will be talked about 20 years from now. Savor this moment because a storm like this is extraordinarily rare and you might not see anything like it again for decades. Yeah, a couple hours of 2"/hr rates and a ton of sleet/ZR with temps in the mid-upper 20s have made this a truly historic storm for the ATL metro. How much do you have over your way? Still getting some sleet here that is really crusting over the snow.

kanc2001
Sleet in Little River, SC. meh, nothing much but a few pellets here, i know the rdu folks are thinking screw job, but we were forecast 1-3" here and I have zilch, oh well, never expect much here anyway, but this one burns when most everyone including beach towns around us are getting snow sounds like now we are getting sleet/rain mix,

nchighcountrywx
Confirmation on Snow down in Pender County outside of Wilmington. Spoke with family there and they have a solid 5 inches with more on the way. On December 26, they had a solid 6 inches in Pender County. Not a bad series of winter snows for them at all. Congrats. Marion_NC_WX
to my mtn & foothill people, definitely some more significant redevelopment on radar south of here. How much do you have in Leicester? I just went out and measured 4 inches...we got some good precip falling right now but it's not snow flakes. More like grains or maybe some sleet mixed in. First time that's happened this morning.

Stormsfury
Normally these branches and this small tree is a liiiittle more upright. Today it looks like a weeping willow ... there's been ice events but this is the most significant one to impact this area and also the Charleston proper itself in a very long time. kanc2001
Yep, I just knew I was gonna wake up to at least 1 inch this morning, . Do you think we still have a chance at some snow? there are heavier returns on radar down by CHS, looks to be getting more of a convective nature to it. most of brief bands thru here so far have been moderate sleet showers for a minute or two. basically nothing. doubt we get any accumulations here, maybe ice later?? strongwxnc
Nice Jason!! Looking at returns coming into upstate for redevelopment. Maybe these can make it up here I am at 7.7 inches. I'm hoping we get another good burst.
wx4life
Nice heavy snow has been falling for the past 30 mins.Have about 4" now. When I woke up at 8:30 we had 2.5" on the ground.Since the snow has picked up accumulation has been increasing.I will say I was a little disappointed when I woke up and there wasn't more on the ground, but realized most of our snows lately have been overnight and this is actually a daytime storm!! How much do you have over your way? Still getting some sleet here that is really crusting over the snow. A little while ago, I took a number of measurements in the flat areas and 10 inches is the average. Around 6 am there was about the same amount and it snowed heavily for a few more hours so it must have compacted a little bit. So probably a foot overall fell. Snow is over here though as it's been all light sleet/freezing rain for the past hour or so.
