SEMIweather
could we get more than 2"? It's a possibility...the GFS has consistently been showing a significant event for our area over the last day. On the other hand the Euro has us getting much less as the system tracks way further south on the Euro than the GFS. FWIW I doubt the low ends up as far south as what the Euro is currently showing...apparently the operational run is to the south of every single ensemble member. And of course another scenario entirely is that this phases early and tracks further north...a whole spread of scenarios right now lol. But for being 5 days out, I actually have decent confidence that we'll see something wintry on Tuesday.

MoWeatherguy
GFS may be hinting at a stronger solution tonite. Could be coming further north. IMO

Joplinmet
GFS is warm tonight. Look back two cycles ago, or about 100 days ago. Watch how this wave tracked. It tracked north of the 4-states. However the Jet stream was much weaker then. http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/dailywxmap/dwm_500ht_20101022.html Doug Heady

MoWeatherguy
I've always heard the path of best snows will follow the 500MB vort path. Also the 850 low appears to pass just south of here. Big change on the GFS tonite though.

Joplinmet
This is tricky guys. I wouldn't be surprised it this wave swings even farther north. Then the next wave late next weekend takes a deeper track south. This is a weird wave, I am going to have to study on this one later tonight. rockchalk83
This is just.... yeah LOL....I am right there with you JoMo. That would definitely put a huge dent into the drought we have been having in most of the 4 states since late spring. 00z GFS ftw.
