Amazing what those snow bands can do though when you get under one. 5.5" here around

NwWhiteOut
Euro on board now for the next system. Amts a bit later. Cool....i remember springfield saying possibly a few inches again in last nights disco. So which model handled this storm the best you think? It seems like gfs and nam were both crap. Neither had the totals right for up this way either. Crazy models lol
MoWeatherguy
From a QPF standpoint most of them were overdone up until last nite's runs and then they were underdone. My melted snow totalled up around .27 in my gauge so that is pretty close to my measured snow amount using a 15-17:1 ratio. A lot of the models were advertising in the .30-.40 range which some places may have gotten. As far as weather features are concerned I think both the GFS and the Euro were the most consistent and probably ended up as good as any in the verification. NAM was not good at all on this one IMO. MoWeatherguy
Euro QPF for select cities (Sun PM-Mon): SGF - .36 JLN - .20 KC - .10 STL - .38 TUL - .03 FYV - .12 All places appear cold enough for snow. Fairly sharp cutoff across W MO.

Yea man the nam qpf wasnt bad at first cause it had around 4-5" pegged for here then the later runs bleh forget it lol. Wonder how much the euro will say for us with the next system. I see the NWS removed snow chances here for sunday night monday time frame now. Now it says monday night chance of snow. One of those models I cant even understand one bit and its really difficult to read(for me anyhow lol). The gfs i find the easiest for me on the basic know stuff. My biggest issue is remembering the damn 00z and 18z and all that crap....i get that stuff mixed up with the times really bad. I even got a conversion page bookmarked and still my brain just wont process it but go figure i do have short term memory so that doesnt help either ya know lol

MoWeatherguy
They drop the forecast just as models are all hinting at something. If you look at the point/click forecast for your county there's no telling what you may see on there. My understanding is that is all pretty much computer generated from who knows what. I always check the regular zone forecast for the county. Seems to be more consistent.

Looks like the usual clipper track. I expect by the next couple of runs we'll pretty much be out of the picture on this one. Clippers usually dont hit that good this far west. Just hoping maybe this one is going to dig a bit more before ejecting eastward.

Ozarkwx
I think that one of the best things about snow is the fact that it changes the landscape, offering a different perspective and a different color of light. One of the great things about living in the country is the fact that nature offers such a wide variety of great things to look at and appreciate in almost every season. These are scenes from the Open-air Meditation Sanctuary in Eureka Springs today.

NwWhiteOut
Awesome pictures ozarkwx!!! The giant hand one was cool! I wanna get out and get a few myself of the stream area down the street here its a really neat quiet area. Been trying to get a filter for my camera first though to capture long exposure shots of the snow and water.

springfieldnewsnut
So, I'm thinking the four different disturbances that are supposed to pass through the Ozarks region over the next week won't amount to much at all. It seems like it'll be too dry to me. Thoughts?
