NwWhiteOut
Ok this may sound stupid to some of you other guys with more knowledge but this snow is really strange looking up this way! Jomo hopefully your up still and can explain. It almost looks identical to white rice pellets. I dont think i have ever even seen this before its so weird and so hard to describe. Its so small but yet its coming down so thick you can barely see 50 feet ahead of yourself. Got 4" now up here....im just in shock how fast and sharp the cutoff is....i mean damn some of you guys arent even that far from me really anymore. Just amazing what a mile or so can do out west here. Also do those wxcaster snowfall maps for the nam and gfs update with each model run?

Hmm, not sure about the snow, it might be ice pelletish like sleet but not sleet? The wxcaster maps do update every model run. It takes them about an hour after the model finishes for them to come out.

Kinda like a deformed snowflake lol....a cross between snow and sleet probly like you said. Guess that has to do with the lacking of cloud ice like you were saying earlier? Thnx for the model info on the wxcaster page. I really gotta start remembering this stuff

I will stay up all hours looking at every model, the radar, etc. Then when the actual snow starts I'm so exhausted I'll lay down, fall asleep and miss most of it. Wx 24/7
Heavy snow now bartlesville Keep it coming!!! The snow seems to be wanting to orient primarily along the KS/OK/MO/AR border areas. Edit: Snow finally began falling here around 3:45. Visibilities are starting to decrease as the intensity picks up. It didn't take long to turn the roads white either. Joplinmet
I am in Webb City. It is hard to tell with the drifting of snow. However, I have several measuring sticks around the yard and I will melt some snow down in my guage. I would say the north Joplin metro is around 3"
