ChrisM
Eastern 2/3 of SNE getting smoked at 54 hours! we want some too! At least our snow will be lighter and fluffier than the cement you get in the flatlands

MaineJayhawk
The Bay I would think plays into my thinking, after seeing the Taunton map plus the forcast temps of up to 35 degrees on Wed, I tend to be conservitive, no doubt the effects in PVD metro will be greater than the boxing day bilzzard. OT- are there a lot of RI/Eastern Mass posters? Oh, yeah ... lol
weathafella
That's more than just inside the benchmark, isn't it? No. When it passed latitude 40, it was around 71. It then moved outside of ACK into MA Bay about 50 miles east of the cape elbow. 60 hours in the GOM and downeast gettting good snows but SNE is the jackpot...no doubt about it on this run. Bryan
Congrats to all SNE and NE on your big hit. You should score a couple feet. But we Mid Atl'ers really know how to enjoy snow. We enjoy it to the full - One inch at a time. Is it really necessary for you to come into another Regional Forum and try to antagonize?

MJHUB
Oh, yeah ... lol Good deal, got tired of explaining RI/SE mass climo to New Yorkers haha. Think I found a new place to set up camp. I have been going with a track for about 2 days now of the LP going just SE of nantucket if not right of the island itself on a NNE track.

OK, so 6-12 inches, but what are the ratios? I mean .75 could be anywhere from 7 inches to about 15 or 16.
radarman
All you need to do is take a ride down into any of the valley locations where folks live.... It's easy to get orographic snows at elevations of 2k-4k. The champlain valley, on the other hand, is one hell of a screw zone. No need to explain valley screw zones to me. But last Feb was not "orographic" snows by any means. Rutland must've got 10+ at least? Plus a 63 mph gust at the airport. I could see how it would still leave a bad taste in your mouth when the mts. get 24-40".
