baroclinic_instability
The University of Washington has NH 00/12Z GFS loops of Potential Vorticity on theta surfaces--useful for various things. They also have the typical 500 hpa Vort and various other maps. One nice thing is the upper air maps are -7 days to 180 hours of the latest GFS run. You need to scroll near the bottom. http://www.atmos.was...u/~ovens/loops/
baroclinic_instability
If anyone here happens to be interested in West Coast/Eastern pacific weather patterns, U of W has another model page. http://www.atmos.washington.edu/mm5rt/
