How often do they get snow? I havent seen that much in my area this year but am expecting there will be 4-8 unches over the next few days.

Not often enough for their tastes. But seriously, looks like a major storm for the deep South...a crippler if you will. The Southeast forum is a fun read right now. Good for them.

They are just getting hammered down there. Huntsville, AL picked up 4" in the last hour and 7" in the last 3 hours and has been reporting heavy snow with thunder and lightning. They could end up with 12-20 inches.

Yeah I think they could possibly make a run at 12" which would be astounding for down there.

I was watching TWC earlier and I can't remember exactly where it was but they said that some area only has one plow for the entire county. If that's how it is in other areas of the South, it's gonna be bad.

thats how it is for my friends in Seneca, SC in the northwest part of the state. They only have a few plows and cancel school for a 1/4" of snow....that would be the life, where up here in takes 12".....during the overnight into the morning hours.....and coming down at an 1"/hr...ugh.

Grenada County, Mississippi. They average less than an inch per year, so they can't really justify spending money on snow removal equipment. The state does have a decent amount of plows, but obviously they focus on interstates and major state highways. County roads are going to be a disaster.
