From FOX 21 Carolina.

Tonight: Snow, especially after midnight. Accumulations of 2-4 inches by early AM possible

Monday: Snow before noon, then sleet transition in the afternoon. Additional 2-4 inch accumulations possibly before sleet takes over.

(going with 4-7″ for much of the 85 corridor, with the “sweet spot” for snow in the northern Upstate and western mountain counties where 6-12″ could fall, southern Upstate 3-6″ possible).

Monday night: freezing rain likely in Upstate especially, under 0.25″ so I don’t expect many power outages but enough ice (0.05-0.15″) to cause major road concerns by Tuesday morning.

All I'm going to say is we are dropping like a rock around here. Weather stations around here are already below freezing. Stormsfury said Summerville is already 34 and precip is funneling in early to saturate us. It's snowing at AbsolutZero's house in Peachtree, Snowing in Carrolton GA already.. this is moving faster and much stronger than expected currently.

Sleet still coming down at PTC. Roads starting to get icy.

I like Kendra's forecast for northern upstate...looks like Andy will be up early in the morning on their blog.

I just got a call from my sis at 8:05. She just got safely home from Gwinnett County to her home in Buckhead. During virtually the entire trip home (~45 minutes), she kept wondering what is crazy GaWx talking about...there was no precip. She even stopped to get gas. However, when literally just one block from home, it suddenly started snowing!! So, then she decided that GaWx isn't crazy after all. Whew, what a close call!!

She did tell me that the roads are not yet slippery. I guess it is melting right now. She also confirmed to me that it is snow, not IP.

Just drove home from the airport in ATL. Temps went from about 34 to 30 in the space of about 10 miles once I got onto SR 74 southbound from Tyrone into Peachtree city.

Light flakes at first, then some pingers. As I got into Ptree city it started pouring sleet/snow mix and its sticking to everything including the roads. Dangerous driving already

as the light melt and sleet seems to already be freezing. Highly recommend folks stay home in this. I'm sure the heavier precip band had the temps plummet as I drove

south on SR 74. This is very cool!

I confirm that just got back home in Tyrone from Beef O'Brady's in Peachtree City. Roads are ice covered and very slick. Getting snow and sleet mixed. Going from steady to heavy at times. Temp at 29. I would not want to go back out tonight.
