joshuaincharlotte
I think I am the only GA nut on here. I will be hurting tomorrow. tried to go to sleep about 10:30 but kept reading obs on my iphone, so hit the road at 11pm. Let me tell you, you will wait for what seems like forever, but when it hits, its gonna hit hard. Lots of wind, and the ground gets white quick. next thing you know theres a couple inches on the ground. Good luck to all you in NC who are staying up so as not to miss those first flakes. This is an awesome storm. Thanks man - it should be soon. I've been enjoying your reports.

It is small flakes here but pretty heavy to make visibility somewhat low.

This is an awesome storm. I'm still awake in Athens. Peeked out my door about 30 minutes ago. Still snowing, not quite the same intensity as earlier but still at a good clip
DixieBlizzard
How much you got right now 6.4" here I couldn't tell you because I haven't measured since the 5 inch measurement. It was kind of spotty for the last hour so I don't think too much over 5.5 yet. We have one more band about to move through that stretches back to Birmingham. snowblzchance in CLT
I swear to my soul we covered the ground here in 5 minutes. Awesome! I'm soooo tired, but watching everything go white to me is one the best parts of the storm. So I'll wait it out as long as I can to see that before crashing hard. At least once it starts, it sounds like I won't have to wait long to have some sweet, snowy dreams! :snowman:
strongwxnc
best thing so far.... No dripping sound down the gutters outside!! Mod snow here. Also, the radar looks great and returns look stronger in the upstate right now, Northern upstate towards the state line. Seeing some 35DBZ returns!!! MotoWeatherman
Just took another measurement. Had to measure at a bunch of different places on my driveway due to all the blowing snow. Had many 4.5" and many 5" measurements so I'll call it 4.75" so far. So I've received 4.75" of snow north of Dahlonega at of 330am. That's 4 hours since start. Not bad and we are definitely not done. ninergreen
Moderate Snow now in South Charlotte. Wow that was fast. Already sticking to cars, and back deck. Edit: Wow, it gets heavier by the second. I cant finish typing without going back to window and seeing more and more, my road is getting covered. FLO
How is it possible to get almost an inch 5 hours ago, and since not a thing? Surely the dry slot and virga is not that bad over N. Aiken towards Edgefield which is north of I-20. Depressing.

NGTim
ok I was wrong. I can't believe we are all still awake. This is too good of a storm to waste sleeping through. I'm anxious to see how much you got Dawson. WeatherKid you cleaned up! Thats awesome. I heard someone calling in on AM750 who said they had 8 or 9 inches in Vinings. Not sure if thats true or not, but wow if it is. It was fun riding around on 400 listening to Tony Shivani (sp?) taking calls. My favorite thing is when I'm riding around and I hear them say "stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary". I will admit I almost got scared on 400, but it was a good kind of scared, like on a roller coaster. glad I got the 4wd. I had to tow a guy who had just got off a shift at Outback in Gainesville. Good luck Weatherdawg. Athens is near and dear to my heart. I chased over there last year (or was it 2 years ago) when yall got that 8 incher in March. Man that was awesome. Funny thing is I got zero that day. soon as I hit 985 though, it was 5 inches all of a sudden. I wonder how much Rosie is getting.
