just wait...when it hits you have no idea how hard it is snowing. i cant even describe it, sort of like someone is emptying a bucket of snow. already 1.1" - everythings is completely covered. its coming down in waves

Yep, you think it's coming down hard and then it ramps up even more. Back to a sleet/snow mix here as heavier returns start to move over the area.

Richland Rd, just north of seneca and below Walhalla :snowman:

Hahaha - growing up, we used to always call that the "snow line" either side of it would be snow...more often than not, the Seneca side saw snow.

My mom lives off of Earlstead Drive near Walhalla HS. She said it wasn't doing anything there about 10 mins ago. Keep me updated on your totals!

Nothing here yet just west of Greenville. I noticed the pretty yellow to my southwest is going away though. :gun_bandana:

i hope you're not using GSP radar. Use FFC or Dawson's or CAE, the beam near you won't show it til its on you.

Sounds great. Reminds me of what happened in March 09, where it was snowing so hard and piled up the fastest I'd ever seen. Enjoy! I'm trying to stay awake but I'm so sleepy I may nap 2 hours and set the clock....just hate missing the start.

Will do, my stomping grounds are Walhalla, my High School...help coach football there now in spare time.

Observation

Flakes are getting bigger now, nickel to quarter sized!

Speaking of that, Charlotte TDWR really seems to work well for showing snow here.

+1 Foothills. Want to see the first flakes fly in SW Charlotte. Lets get those 25dbz over us...so we can nap!

Just measured 4" in the yard. I went out to see if sleet was mixing in. It sounded like it but it was actually little snow grains. Currently 24.9 degrees. I guess FFC figured a WSW was enough and they could take the night off. Im off to bed. Hopefully Ill wake up to 8+ on the ground with the sound of thunder.

I've had about 5" and Ken Cook said at least 1-3" more, I'm expecting around 8" before it's all over. Still snowing here. As a matter of fact, he just said a little wave coming in to enhance the moisture for the next 6 hours. That's why it's been building back into Alabama. I hate to go to sleep!

Quite an evening. Played trivia in ATL, incredible heavy snow band, 2" in an hour. Then our rather harrowing drive up I-85- heavy snow all the way, barely made it. Now in the motel in Lavomia (10 mi from the SC border) heavy snow just began here.

Stressed out i bet!

No work tomorrow, no school for my daughter, may not sleep at all!

Back to all moderate snow here. Sleep can wait until 5 AM or so, it's not like we're going to be able to go anywhere for the next day or so...

Nice... are you planning to stay there are or are you planning to venture up any further north?
