Sure beats being stuck at work.

No kidding. I stocked up at home so I'm set. Just need to pace myself though. I'm glad I was moved back to a later shift tomorrow. My little car couldn't move this snow out of the way. At least at PSU they had plows. Around here if you want one it's pretty much random rednecks with plywood duct taped to the front of their pickup who drive by hootin and hollerin. I love Georgia!

28.7 now, still light snow. I love how that band keeps filling in around the city. Gonna go measure again.

I am thrilled for the guys up in ATL and points north but I am depressed to see snow bads pummeling folks just north of me, while I have been getting light snow and sleet for a couple hours now. I have about 1" of snow and sleet. We need the stuff to the west to be snow, but I have my doubts for us down here. ATL airport just reported 3" on the ground.

From radar, it looks like the dry slot is starting to fill in for we on the Southside.

Snow has tapered down to light... So more time to write now that I'm not freaking out haha  4.8" currently, with spots of 6" in the grass. Looks another good band forming in East Alabama! Hopefully we stay all snow!!! we took a walk at about 10:00 and it was literally a whiteout on our main road. 2" on there at the time but I'm hearing reports of 4" plus on the roads now so I will have to go check in a few minutes. SO PUMPED :weight_lift::snowman:

my sister from athens just called in total shock. she said it is snowing so hard you cant see anytihng, and there is already a couple of inches on the ground. i talked to them about maybe two hours ago and nothing!

I live in Athens, near campus...I went outside earlier and didn't hear or see anything. Since then, it's been snowing moderately to heavily since just before 10 from what I can tell. Everything is covered and it's still comin' down

What part of Dahlonega.? Your now the 5th person on here from Dahlonega.

Snowing hard now....WOW!!!

Winding down for now, though it looks like the dry slot is filling in. Right at 4" here in less than two hours. You look to do great up there with bands continuing to build and move your way.

Very tight gradient between snow and sleet /freezing rain . Pretty incredible that 850mb temps of -4c to -5c near athens while the waa is taking hold along the ga/al border. Have to love the wedge. Reports of freezing rain in spots now south and west of town.

So snow should hold on for quite a while longer in the east/north than the atlanta metro it would seem. But this is bad news if we see all that is on radar as sleet/freezing rain on top of several inches of snow in the atlanta area..especially west and south of town. Atlanta traffic cancel.

Just noticed that. Looks like some decent precip. moving up towards us from sw to ne. Snow just picked up here as I type. Lets hope the wedge can keep the column cold so we can get more snow. The winds sure are crankin'!
