Its hard to get a measurement with the wind but im over 2" by now. Down to 26 degrees. Ken Cook just said something like all bets are off if this keeps up til morning. BTW this storm should go down as the Robert "Foothills" storm. He kept the faith and nailed this as far as GA goes.

In Dallas, GA (about 30 miles NW of Atlanta), it started snowing at 8:45pm.

It quickly turned heavy, and at 10:55pm, we have 5 inches. The Fox5 met basically just shook his head and said it's anyone's guess how much would fall since we will stay under these heavy bands until it turns to sleet around 9am.

Always amazes me what just a few miles one way or another can make a huge difference in Ptype and amounts for winter events like this. Starting to think we are getting shafted on the south side for this.

Cant wait to see what the totals are going to look like for the ATL area tonight.

I drove from Orlando to Chattanooga this afternoon. Just got in a few minutes ago. It was snowing when we drove through ATL, but it was above freezing and not sticking yet. Looks like we made it through just in time. I'm awaiting my thumping up here with a perfect temp of 28 degrees. On radar, it looks like this is gonna be a good one.

I was worried about precip not getting this far north.. havent looked at radar in a while.. was kinda discouraging.. oh well, ATL hasnt had a good thump in forever.. that area of the world deserves it.

Fingers are crossed for you, hopefully we get some heavier moisture to roll in south of I-20.

I lied, I measured again. 2.75".

Several hours of virga, as I may add. LOL It seems like we've had returns going on forever.

I've been outside tending to a bonfire, and I've felt bursts of what I know to be "that feels like snow air" to quickly disseminate since around 8:30pm.

Temps still hovering 34-35°. Husband just called from Easley, SC and still nothing there to be seen. Has anyone in between CAE and ATL seen any precip?

Just feels like we are wasting these good cold temps during darkness here. I do see lots of moisture headed this way but its kind of disconcerting to see it drying up....really

looking like a dry slot type thing setting up over us and down towards macon.

I was under good returns forever before it started snowing. Once it started, it let loose. Still snowing fairly heavily here.

See my snowboard right at 4" http://www.daculaweather.com/camera.php

Considering your username, I'll assume you live in the same town as me. The radar is breaking my heart. I think you may be right about the dry slot. Looks like we're resigned to a lousy icy glaze.
