ATkeL
snow at 2151 on 01092010.bmp Snow is piling up faster than the drink is going down. Getting a little breezy too. Temp is down to 29.4. Creeping up on 2.5 inches accumulation. I feel like echoing the dad from 'A Christmas Story' when he puts his major award up in the front window. "You should see what it looks like from out here!" In other news, I'm having a drink in honor of the frackin awesome mets on here. You guys rock! Suddenly I feel like reading my mesoscale course book again. Itunis
That amount I told you might bust....LOL... Back down to light snow here with very fine flakes, dewpoint is still in the single digits. Is it just me or does the band seem to be moving more quickly to the north?

Batman
Light snow with some sleet mixed in right now. Much of the heavy band of snow that moved through ATL. stayed north of me. we have about 1" of snow and sleet on the ground now and sitting at 27.8. I am pleased to see that what appeared to be a dry slot in S. AL. has pretty much filled in. It looks like lots of solid precip move this way from the W/SW. Also looks like some heavier precip trying to form.

augustagaweather
I picked my daughter up from Conyers, GA about 1.5 hours ago and that I-20 band literally chased me back to Augusta. If I'd been 30 or 40 minutes later leaving I probably would have been spending the night there. Snow/sleet on south side of augusta working its way to me on the north side. My temp is currently 33. Lookout
FINALLY...snowing. Only took 25 dbz Interesting wind change too. Winds were lightly blowing from the northeast but this band is so intense it's actually shifted the wind to the south. Quite windy all of a sudden..around 10 to 15mph.
