It tried to snow on Christmas day, but no accumulation whatsoever. By early the next morning, it finally started to stick. My foot became infected and I had a fever and couldn't sleep. I was miserable all night. I was alone, it was cold, I was sick, had no pain meds and to top it off, Chapel Hill still got screwed. Worst storm ever.

Flurrying here again. Go sit outside or something and look -- you should see a flake.

This is the banter thread, right? You have to watch the 8hr (yes 8hrs) radar from WRAL. It is sadistically laughable how the moisture just dies as it tries to move into the Triangle. Nothing whiney there. Just a sad state of affairs.

Dang. It's as if the Starship Enterprise landed in Raleigh and turned on the anti-snow forcefield while refueling.

FoothillsNC posted in the Obs thread a little while ago.

they are probably exhausted and need some rest! its been a wild, intense couple of days for them. its about over for most of the ones in n ga (except maybe dawson, he might be in line for some ice)

i can barely keep my eyes open, but i cant go to sleep yet since we have some icing going on lol

Like I said before, this is how it usually is here. We get lucky and have maybe one good snow a winter, and that is usually from a low bombing off the coast. If it comes from the west or south, it usually hits a wall right at the Triangle.

They only sleep i've gotten in the past 48 hours was three hours of it yesterday evening. After the football game is over tonight, i'm passing out for a while and taking a much needed break.

irony (n.) - having to drive to the mountains to jump off a cliff due to a screwjob, but not being able to get there due to snow on the highways.

BTW, something's finally getting here on radar. Whether it'll hit the ground, or take one look, realize it's in the Triangle, and then float right back up into the cloud? That's still open for judgement. :lmao:

RAH point forecast for Durham is still saying 1/2" today, 1-2" + .1" ice tonight, .1" ice tomorrow. Certainly not earth-shattering, but it's still snow. I'm just stunned I finally lived to see a storm where Columbia (where I lived for 7 1/2 years) got more snow than Durham did! I imagine most of SC is pretty much paralyzed right now.
