oconeexman
Cats went for a walk with me, of course they stayed in my footprints safely behind me. Lol..wish i would have video ours that are outside, they hopped like rabbits early this morning, now snuggled up on top of each other in their bed! WidreMann
This is really kind of funny. I compare central NC's situation as the horse and the carrot. This morning the radar was charging towards us only to just get dissolved away at the last minute (or hour). Now we see another batch coming up from the south and most central NC people are being shown the carrot again. Do we get the carrot this time? I won't. Radar honestly looks terrible. Everything sliding by to the south. RUC gets weaker with each run. I'm beginning to think that all we'll see is some light frz drizzle overnight with the "coastal", such as it is. Brick Tamland
I do think there is something about the air here in the Triangle that makes it so dry. I know, we do get some good storms every now and then, but it seems more often than not that the precip just seems to die out before it gets here if it comes from the west or the south. Our only chance of getting a good snow it seems is if we have a low bombing off the coast.

If it's not going to be snow, and those chances are bout done, then I can do without the frz rain. Ready for it to get warm if this is how this winter is going to go. Ready for it to get warm if this is how this winter is going to go. That is how it's going to go. Two winters where we had good patterns and all I have to show for it is still below normal snow and a series of screwjobs. Honestly, I'd rather have the comfortable 05/06-style winters where we aren't even in the running for snow, so there's nothing to miss out on. Me as well, and this cold, high power bills, to have to watch web cams in Wilmington or out east to see snow.

If you were to tell me (even as late as yesterday) that this would pan out the way it has, I would have guffawed out loud. It's 1:30 PM and still not a single flake has fallen IMBY. snowforme
I know all of the Georgia and upstate SC posters are saying that it's their turn for a big snow because we always get it but it seems like they get decent snows each winter. I still can't get over the fact that Fayetteville has four inches and we have nothing. Isn't there a possible storm next week or am I just reaching? My wife loves the beach and I enjoy snow. I could have killed two birds with one stone if I had known this would happen. After today, we can now confirm that it's possible to live too far north (and south) for any substantial snow.

The torch is going to start mid-January, so don't get your hopes up. Maybe it'll cool down again in February and we can have another screwjob potential.
