And the same thing with the ice storm of Dec 02. That wasn't supposed to be anything but a minor event and we know how that turned out. And then there are the other times when the forecast was for a big storm and we got squat.

But this looks like it might end up being a big fail. A lot of hype the last week and when it comes down to it we won't get anything much. Maybe we can get an inch out of it and some ice on top to at least make it interesting and get out of work early today and not have to go in tomorrow. If we don't get anything at all, I'm blaming the dookies in Durham.

With ya there :P

Schools were closed in Guilford and Forsyth today. I'm dreading the looks on my kids' faces when they awaken and race excitedly to the window only to be met with the view of brown grass and bare trees.

Oh, and the sun is peaking through the thin clouds now. Good morning, Mr. Sun! Did you hear that schools are closed because of snow? arrowheadsmiley.png

What were you expecting?

My sentiments exactly. We've known for DAYS we didn't really have a dog in this hunt. How can it be a fail if you're not supposed to get squat-diddly in the first place?

I'm just sittin' back and enjoying my cloudy sky, sippin' on some hot tea and if I see anything frozen falling out of the sky - BONUS! We've had our good snow, I'mma let some others have at it now.

I've got over 6 inches so far and it's still falling.

I have about 6.5 but man the radar looks pretty dismal coming up 85. I wonder if this will be the end or if there will be some back filling. Looking at gsp's graphics they still have us getting another 3 or 4 inches. I am very skeptical of that. Regardless this have been a heck of a storm...:snowman:

So your child comes to you and says, "Dad, I don't think I'm going to do well on my report card next week. I'll probably get an F in math." And sure enough, the report card arrives and your child has a big, fat F in math.

But he didn't really fail math at all, see? He lowered your expectations. He received the grade that you thought he'd get. No need to be disappointed. Let's take him to Chuck E. Cheese's instead!

Rock on for the Southern Piedmont!

This is an exact repeat of last year except for the one snow we had in January. Everyone to the south got the snow and we got nothing.

Anybody else hate it when you read a forecast discussion and w/in the text the forecaster writes something like, "Unfortunately, it looks like it will snow" or "Fortunately the snow will end soon."

Yeah right... like they don't want it to snow.
