i honestly didnt measure, couldnt measure actually lol..The town right next to me, Lyndhurst, measured 27", and they said my town only had 23". I dont think anyone knew what they were doing that day. It was epic, i saw a 10 foot drift that was a block long in union city when i went to go bury out my grandma :snowman:

Similar to what we saw in Cliffside Park just a few miles north of there. NBC was driving around the area and captured similar drifts just 2 miles from my town on live TV. Pictures reflecting these drifts were sent in from my town by a nearby neighbor to one of the networks and it was shown on TV as well.

I plow snow in Somerset County...I have no idea what you are talking about with respect to screw zone. Last year we had an 18 incher, a 14 and a 10. This year we had another 18 incher, a 14 and I think another one with about 9. What screw zone is that? Dont understand why every storm needs to be 2 feet

Not sure what part of Somerset County you live in, but where I live, the biggest storm I had last winter was 13.5'' (2/10/10), followed by 9'' (12/19/09), followed by 8'' (2/26/10). This winter the biggest storm I had was 1/26-27/11 (16''), followed by 12/26/10 (9''), followed by 1/11-12/11 (8''). My snow totals for the last two winters have been 46'' and 48'', which are quite a bit lower than many other places.

Somerset-Middlesex counties have been a screwzone the last few winters. 50 inches obviously is still a great winter, and I'm very happy. But it would be nice to be a jackpot area for once.

No way have we been the screw zone. Last two winters have been 59 and 62 of snow. We jackpoted many of those events. Boxing day being the best.

How did you only get 9 inches for the boxing day storm? I think officially New Brunswick had over 19inches. Where do you live?

:lmao::facepalm: :facepalm:

How is this possible?

JFK is at 42.0 and I am at 64 inches.

LOL they didn't measure some storms.... although it looks like they changed the guy who measures there and have been much more accurate in March :P My totals agree with yours; I'm at 62.3 inches on the season :)

I should've been more specific. I'm on the northwest side of Piscataway, more towards the extreme northwest part of Middlesex county. I'm closer to the Somerset county screwzone, and am closer to the amounts that RutgersWx92 has gotten. My total for this winter so far is 53 inches, compared to your 62 in Edison. Areas just to my east and south in Middlesex county have done better than I have. Then you go north into Union county, and earthlight has gotten more than 70 inches. I know it's hard to call 53 inches a screwzone. That's still a GREAT winter and I'm very happy. But I have definitely gotten quite a bit less than areas to my east, north and south the last couple winters. In some of these storms I've been right near the sharp cutoff here in northwest Middlesex county, and just barely missed the bigger amounts by a few miles. From here to Somerset county, the amounts drop off quickly. Still great winters though with way above average snowfall.

If you don't like cold weather and/or want to complain about it without posting obs, here's an idea. Don't post in those thteads!

who are you talking to, this is a banter thread, why be a troll about it. You couldnt handle my post in the Rt 287 where I talked about how people were so off the topic which was a legit post

Hey mr guilty conscious, I wasnt talking to you, and yes, I know this is the banter thread, which is why I posted this in here, not in an OBS THREAD. If you post about people going off topic, in a topic about something that you didnt comment on...arent you then off topic? Brilliant, dude.

Yes, very good post. Hard to complain with 48 and 46 inches over the last two winters, but it's definitely quite a bit less than many areas to my east, south, and north. How much did you get last winter?

this is weenie talk and has been stated 500 million times but... FEB 5-6th 2010 CMON!

we would be flirting with 150 for sure :stun:

I have stated in the past and now and will contiune to do so...

There is no doubt that had February 5th and 6th 2010 slammed the rest of the East Coast, it would surpass the January '96 Blizzard in snow totals and coverage... a real whopper it was.....

One can argue December 19-20 2009, had it went a bit further west, giving NYC 18-20" of snow.

yes that feb storm was just a perfect storm, insane amounts of moisture being injected into the storm with many areas over 3" qpf..That storm def had a chance to rival 1996
