JB's long ranger today was not pretty. He said around Valentine's Day winter goes away for 3-4 weeks. He called it a false spring since he expects it to turn ugly sometime in March.

oh well if that's the case then I get in some false golf before the return to ugly, then again no matter what season my game could be described as false golf

bump for 2/1-2/2 related banter....PHL and NYC people, the banter has not been split so please....can't we all just get along?

cold with some flurries/sleet here in Woodbury, just SSE of PHL.

Thanks for the bump, I looked on the second page but I guess I missed it. Anyhow, I'm interested in this storm for our area. However I'm actually just as(if not more) interested in seeing how this storm affects the Midwest.

I am also interested in how it effects parts of N/Central Pa, Northeast PA and NY state...after all of these intense coastal scrapers its interesting to see a storm that will effect a broader swath of the country. Been skimming some of those subforums tonight. Its a great storm for true wx nerds

Very cool, thanks for the link!

It would be even cooler if there was a link out there for someone chasing in MO or IL.

Good point, they definitely deserve a lot of snow. Hopefully this one pans out well for them.

Usually there's people streaming all over with these events. I have to head out to work in a few minutes, I get back around 630ish. I'll see what I can find then, and post links for you.

Tried to go running in Center City pHL this am. Fail. Everything is glazed with a light coating of ice. Looks like a glazed donut out there. Made it about 20 steps. Fell. Another 20 steps. Fell again. Turned around and came home. If it doesn't warm up today the next round of ice tomorrow am is going to cause major issues in the city.

Yay.

Last year it got warm around the third week in March and pretty much stayed that way afterward. Most of the trees around here actually leafed out about 2-3 weeks early because of it. I wouldn't mind that happening again this year.

Yeh, till about October.:sizzle:

This is the ideal scenario, IMO. We need warm weather in time for the baseball season! :sun:

My thinking is that we get warmer for the 2nd half of February and then we get one last shot of winter for the first half of March.
