Tropopause_Fold
Phil, are you worried by the no show of the 00z NAM? Nah...but I was never expecting 1" of qpf like it was trying to do earlier today. GFS looks decent

I wonder how many have their kids trained to spot for them. I do. My daughter at 18 months once exclaimed "SNOW!" after it changed from rain one night. Ginx snewx
Wonder if Steve will sandbag Westerly to protect them from the snow. Dude why am I looking at the fooling big dipper, man now I know what LES guys feel like when their next door neighbor get 20 and they get PC
Baroclinic Zone
00z GFS is now through 18 hours. Seems like the QPF shield is too light with a 992mb low near the coast. Tremendous lightning in the last 30 minutes, shown by vaisala lightning explorer off the NC coastline, seems to detect quite the potent shortwave moving through the TN valley. With 8 kids and11 grandbabies I have spotters everywhere in SNE, first texts were from Stafford then Norwich, training the little ones now to call Poppa with measurements. danstorm
How's it going Dan! Wish you were still in Boston. Where are your working these days? There's something sweet about tiny little pixie flakes in a chilly night in Brookline. But you got it REAL good! I've been working on developing my own business for about a year now... have a few partners ... not quite ready to reveal things on a public forum but we are quite optimistic about our growth potential... I think we have a pretty innovative product that we are about to release in the next month or so ... has been a long time in development ... needless to say, this is a very exciting time! More importantly - how are you, my friend? How is the family? How is life treating you on the S side of Comm Ave.? I live in Manhattan these days which is ok - I'm in the Financial District - but miss living in Brooklyn (where I lived for a year before moving to the city) and certainly miss the days of Boston and especially the winter of 04-05... glad to see you made out well from the blizzard.... quite the discrepancy between you and towns like Framingham, that's for sure! cpickett79
band looks to be decaying a bit faster out up upton radar....especially near just east of hartford. kev i don't think your gonna get more than 4 tonite. but i hope i'm wrong. you can see the band broke apart just SW of block island and that stuff is all gonna rotate north then pivot NW .....and the crap sliding east to the south will prob. just fizzle. i would think Westerly RI then over SW of ginx and just NE of kev will get a nice 4 inch plus.....then sharp cut off. Wow that sounds great...good luck! I'm rolling along.....working pretty hard and enjoying family. I was born in Brooklyn...center of the earth! Yeah my BY really did quite well for a change and I enjoyed it immensely. It's better when everyone else does great though along with you.
ORH_wxman
Wonder if we see some funky interaction in the orh hills when this main band starts to intercept that easterly flow I'm hoping for the best....the NE part of that band is starting to get chewed up a bit....but hopefully that's just temporary. Whatever does get here hopefully gets enhanced by the easterly upslope flow. We've lost the snow we had earlier...I wonder if we've entered a bit of a subsidence zone outside the main band as it creeps closer.
CCPSUSuperstorm2010
GFS actually looks very good for our region. It would appear that the NAM is out on its own island right now, with the RGEM/GFS combo liking a better or bigger event for the Cape and Islands, however all models have the max to our south. CoastalWx
Kevin may have done well. The band is getting a little disorganized, but it's pivoting nw a bit..right into his area. Probably the best way for the giant mountain to maximize snow. He won't have the ORH hills wringing out some of the moisture.
ORH_wxman
Near GON has been getting pasted. The temps are near freezing there too so its probably stuck to all the trees and weighing it down.

CCPSUSuperstorm2010
Going to bed now, kind of uneventful evening for eastern areas right now, although central and western CT got raked today and tonight. Ginx snewx
Craig Allen feeling it,tmr. My thought is this still has time to tick west Craig says That trof of snow is still in CT- from the Ct River Valley east, then south down to Montauk. Remarkable. And as if that's not enough to ponder, a near-repeat performance late Sat & Sat ngt. Another storm intensifies upon hitting the water mvg from VA to east of LI. This track may cover coastal NJ and much of L.I. Lets not even talk about midweek, next week.
