i did and immediately deleted it

How late are you staying up? You should rip for the next few hours. I don't think its going to stall over you though because it will be progressing more than earlier and probably also try to weaken, but its very tough to forecast what the band does....as is already obvious by the surprises earlier. It could stay stronger than modeled for awhile.

This could get interesting for us a little later if that stuff can hold together reasonably well. Not saying we'd get a SW CT type deal, but we could pull off a quick 3 or 4" if it holds together decently and then interacts with the easterly upslope flow.

Its a very tough call though and a nowcast type deal. I could also see us not getting much at all but that banding in E CT is starting to make some progress northward.

Thanks, I'll take anything I can get. I haven't seen more then 2" since I was away for the Boxing Day Blizzard. (About that, do you think 12" is accurate for my BY? I just took your total for the storm since I saw no reports from Shrewsbury.)

I deff. can't stay up for whatever happens tonight because I have to be up for a track meet at 630 tommorow. But then again if its bad enough it could get cancelled....or I could wake up to less then an inch lol.

I'm not sure how late. At least for another hour or so. This is legit heavy snow now . The stuff I live for. I was worried earlier it might only snow hard for an hr or 2..but it looks like it may want to go longer than that.

That's about 2 miles south of me. I am VERY tempted to go down with the weenie ruler and see if the 18" verifies...

I loved living in that area (right near the center of town in Bridgewater). Having more than 130" of snow that winter didn't hurt. We had some April snow that year where we had about 6 inches in Bridgewater center, over a foot up 2nd Hill and Hut Hill/Town Line, and literally zero accumulation down the hill in New Milford town center.

5.75 inches now in Middletown, about four inches falling in the last two hours. Still steady light snow, but could be wrapping up soon. Might end up with 6 inches. NAM wants to drop another inch or so with the next wave tomorrow. This event has been so much better than the blizzard.

Congrats! It was pretty wild here too, though we didn't get nearly the snow that you did!

What were your rates during the heaviest interval? I measured 1.4" at 1:15 and 5.2" at 2:40, equating to almost 2.7"/hr.

No kidding. That one really made it hit home for me.

This may go down as my #1 storm. Had 19" in Detroit (yup) when I was a kid (an anomalous NE wind setup of Lake St. Clair in early Dec) and then 15" in 2/06. This one was so totally unexpected, though, that it still takes my breath away!

Remember that year and that April well... we had 125" in the elevations of SW Ct. that winter.
