Cold Miser
Yeah i posted a bit earlier..I think we do this all over again tomorrow night..hopefully more widespread than just Ct though. Some clouds, and lots of clear. Could have sworn I saw a meteor shower going on. Lovely night. Good to not have that pesky snow that others are having to deal with. There still seems to be some rotation over LI, too.
Logan11
It's spraying me right now. Pretty good snow now after a very slow start. 4 inches is a good estimate. I was down around POU earlier so I experienced this thing from south to north as the band slowly shifted up. I have been in snowfall of varying intensities since 8 AM in various locations. Got home at 6:30 PM and then the better stuff caught me here. I'm praying those convective elements to my south make it here. That looks like 3-4 inch per hour snow

Kbosch
Cool to see the SW CT zone worked out; you were right, KBosch.....my apologies. I can take this screw job in stride because I stopped expecting anything days ago. Just want this to end soon, so folks can focus on the mid week potential....thread is dead. Thanks and no prob. I thought the repeated signals over several runs on a few models for this thing setting up around NYC and moving NE of course would do something good (advisory level as I said). Unpredictable, oh yes and as we saw today, but that seemed like it had a good chance based on repetition. I don't have near the knowledge many of you have, so I watch more for patterns such as this and general ideas as I try to learn more. Upton liked it, too. No way did I envision the magnitude for some people since we never do this well with inverted troughs here. Definitely a unique situation and a lucky year in SW CT. I'm in the lower half of totals for this one but quite happy. I'm sorry you're getting screwed again and I hope tomorrow night can help/next week hits us all. Last year, I got the screw job. 20 miles south, they got a foot+ three times. I got a total of 2" covering all 3 storms. These things have a way of working themselves out. And when you get an unexpected miracle hit like tonight, you savor it for the rest of your life. You'll get yours too...

Logan11
The thing has the appearance of a lake effect plume only ...in reverse and off the ocean.
