Kbosch
When i posted that we had a heavy burst. Now it's lightened up somewhat as the big band gets ready to move in.. Why do you always question me when the radar looks like there's not echos? This is the 2nd or 3rd time you've done this to me. Call your other wx weather watcher in Tolland and ask him if you don't believe me. Christ FWIW down here we had that a lot of the afternoon - snow when nothing showed up or heavy snow under what looked to be light on radar. Clinch Leatherwood
So the bottom line at 0z I think is this: The NAM probably handled the MN system better. It's pretty intense. The RUC would have the ULL a little bit slower than the 18z runs which would be good. That'd allow the other system some time to rotate around but.... Anyway long story short I like Q-Tip look to the edge of the s/w energy on the w/v and the RUC. IMO if that continued there's a better chance it rotates around. It indicates the front edge is holding together better versus being sheared. The more sheared the bettter shot it's shot out and around. Just using the RGEM for illustration purposes, if we see the energy rotating up into NJish around noon Saturday that's good news. If it's getting loose east forget it unless we get some meso magic. That's the main difference between the snowy RGEM and the less realistic (in terms of there's no way it produces that QPF in that setup IMO) GFS. The + doesn't mean the end position just a positive result even with that position it rides out similar to the blue line. With the first band...looks like the meso low may be shifting a little east. May ride right up over ECT heading towards Will and Ray.
Damage In Tolland
Look at a loop from BOX or OKX... with at the most 15 dbz over you there is NO WAY you had anywhere close to S+ I have S- to S right now with 20-25 dbz echoes overhead. Not all snow has to be S+ Like I said either ask the other dude from Tolland weenie radar or your e-mail buddy from town. They always confirm my obs yet still you pull this stuff. I don't get it..But whatever. you're right..It's actually raining and 40 here

ORH_wxman
So far not too much weakening of the band over S CT....it will be interesting to see how far N and E it gets while maintaining heavier snow. It definitely still has some convective elements in there.

NB-Weather
whoaaaa..... just got 18" in from Bridgewater!!!! There's no way that's accurate.. considering there are reports just to their south which had heavier echos for most of the storm around 8-10 inches. CT Rain
I knew it. They've been getting clocked for hours Yeah, have tons of 10-14" totals in areas that haven't been hit as hard as them. The 18" sounds a tad high but is within the realm of possibility

I suppose its possible, but it sounds quite high to me. Where did you get 14" in Danbury? I heard mostly 9-10" reports in these threads and it has stopped there now.
