ChrisM
You're in Harwington, correct? yeah, NW Harwinton right on the Torrington border. STILL sitting on the very edge of the heaviest precip. This event has pissed me off to no end.

Clinch Leatherwood
Ginx mentioned this earlier, but there is clearly a meso low as per NAM in the mix... Yep, at the end of the trough. Kind of what it was doing on the 12z for up here until it blew it up. -- As an aside if the w/v-ruc are any guide the NAM/GFS were too fast with some of the energy into the Carolinas this evening, the GFS totally missed a lobe of vorticity around Chicago, and overall the NAM was probably better with the all too critical s/w energy coming down into MN. Problem is it all means nothing because there's no way of knowing what it leads to other than more change Is this radar messed? http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=N0R&rid=okx&loop=yes Is it really drying on the eastern edge still or is that the radar presentation? cpickett79
you can see the echoes moving more SE To NW (or at least SSE to NNW) from say torrington to albany area... just an observation.
Quincy
8.5 inches for a storm total in Danbury. snowfall rates averaged 1-2"/hr from about 3pm to 6pm, when the bulk of the snow fell.

Kbosch
Storm total: 5.4 Not bad for Stratford. I am sure the "Bridgeport" total will be ~4 It pays to be in the hills to my north. I am sure 8-9 is commonplace with a few 10s and maybe one lucky soul with even more.
Bostonseminole
yeah, interesting to see the snow coming from the SW, E and S.. all converging around the pike right now in the boston metro.. hopefully it can make it up this way
leesun
I don't know Kevin. No snow here. We had a bout 15 min of light snow and the radar echoes dried up. Always a snow hole. It is unbelievable watching the radar for hours from the south and southwest, and now seeing echoes to my east and northeast and I still have nothing[ edit, It looks as though the band chose to pivot just before it reached here Give it time dude. steady light snow here now..Long wait..but radar says it should be worth it
vttaconics
I have to put in an ob from my parents in Wolcott, CT.... Just under ten inches. In four fooking hours!!!!!! After moving to VT, I never thought I'd be jealous of CT winters.
cpickett79
looks like as the band weakens a tad in CT it is strengthening (precip is intensifying) from where the Ma/CT/NY border is NW toward the general albany to hunter mountain area.....someone is getting clobbered up there tonite. Looks like it splits in terms of best dynamics. One area where you describe the other moves towards ginx then will and ray. Compared to earlier there's def a shift in intensity and consistency

Go Kart Mozart
My official mesurement for Trumbull is 8.5". The last hour of the event ranks as the third heaviest snow I have ever seen. The heaviest was Feb 83, second was a lake band I encountered near Michigan City, IN, in Nov of 77.
weatherMA
Yeah, like Will, Im just on the southern edge of the band, and we have a coating on all surfaces. Looks like the band has weakened rather then stregthened in the last few frames too.
