32 here now a few pesky flakes, not really sure what is going to come out of this around these parts, maybe a few inches tmrw night seems like a good bet? On a side note a town truck just went by and was pre treating the road ways with some sort of spray, guessing a deicer of some sort. Had to have a short chuckle to myself just kinda thought it was a funny sight, what ever happened to the old days of a salt truck driving by chucking out salt and sand chunks the size of softballs.

torrington is getting screwed right now ...hopefully that isn't you in 4-6 hours.:guitar:

seriously interested to see if moderate snow backs north into torrington . hartford is getting some near mod snow backing Nof 84 but i didn't think this was even supposed to be an issue.

nice snow falling W of 91 esp n of the pike in w ma.

I've seen a handful of flakes here so far just west of 91

Took my dad 1 hour to go from stratford to shelton, no lie

I totally believe it. Roads can be plowed/sanded to pavement only to be covered within a minute. I hear it's a mess everywhere. Basically do not go out in Fairfield county. Even if you must be somewhere you will not be there anywhere close to on time.

I have 6hrly mean QPF, but can't see under 0.10" contours.

36-42: 0.10" line is barely inland along the entire S coast of SNE right through the Cape

42-48: 0.10" line cuts through the Cape around FMH

I just saw this, thanks.

Bouchard 5-8 for Providence, Sharon, western Plymouth, Wareham down south of Kev. I'm not sure if he's including both but I assume so. I think he was alluding to that not including the saturday night deal.?

RTE 111 is almost at a stand still RTE 25, 15 are a mess....I have to go from Trumbull/Monroe to Derby, not looking forward to it backroads will be moving quicker.

There is 4.25" out there just measured......snowing lightly

cut across shelton, hit purdy hill, to elm/mohegan, to ripton, to route 108 right to downtown shelton...forget 25 to 15 to 8

We picked up 1" in the past hour and a half.

Right now it's 31.6 F, snow accumulation for this storm so far is 4.75". Winds are calm. Still snowing heavily.

My elevation is approximately 500 feet.

Monitoring local police frequency - lots of motorists having trouble getting up the hills in town.

heavy heavy band about to rotate thru again in hour or two...with one strengthening right over you......looks like precip is backbuilding/filling in more in Ext. SW CT..... ........someone will see 10 out of this. in SW Ct away from water with a lil elevation.

this is really :poster_oops:'ed up.

what's going on here? Why are these things just not progressing? And Kevin, I know you doubted me saying that but I took a screenshot of the radar returns an hour ago and now looking at them again the northern extent of the heavy precip is basically in the EXACT same spot

RUC in general has been decent with progression. In 6-8 hours the bands will be slicing through about hartford. After midnight they'll finally make it all the way into eastern CT/western RI. But you've got to realize the best forcing is occuring now.

Notice the little spin rotating through about western CT now? Once that slides away.... (adjusted for bad math on time)

The last few frames have showed a progression Northward of the good stuff, we'll see in next 45 minutes whether it holds or washes out again.
