Per the 12z NAM areas just south of Raleigh could get a nice hit (3 or more inches). I would say in a line following US 64 but 20 miles south. Eyewall should be happy with this.

GFS was throwing a inch or so of snow all over the Sandhills, down to Bladen County and over to Laurinburg. NAM looks a little more selective.

I would definitely be happy with this assuming we can overcome the surface layer.

Awesome...teaser of things to come.

Got flurries here in Dahlonega at 37.4.

Looking good here too. I already have a coat of ~~ 1" and the temp is sitting more or less at 31F. Even if the clipper event doesn't lay down a lot, it is still good prep for the weekend event to get some snow cover.

1" already? Awesome! Because the best of this clipper is not until later this afternoon.

Yea, ended up with about .5 overnight, and its been coming down at a moderate clip since about 9:20 this morning. Got some lovely fluffy big flakes coming down right now. Southwestern CC just closed (at 10am) to boot so work is done for the day and I'm home for the weekend.

I know you know this but i feel compelled to say it...

Your going to cash in big time by Tuesday. I could see a foot plus by midday Monday (at this time). I think my northern Jackson prediction of 1-3" might bust if your rates stay continuous throughout the night. Keep us posted!

I work at HCC and we still are watching the snow fall. It seems backward this yr. HCC and Aville schools always close before Jackson and SCC. O well, it is what it is

The way things are going, we'll get more snow tonight than we will Monday and Tuesday.

Brick it looks like our area will still get >.4 liquid but it will be over a 24 hours period. Also 850 temps would indicate snow to sleet/freezing rain and then maybe back to snow. So maybe 2" of thick snow/ice. But this is my guess looking at the GFS...

The euro is a bit further south than the gfs with the shortwave. So we still have a little room to see this go a bit further south. That is important as it helps draw in just a bit more moisture. Especially with a weak sfc reflection over northern SC. This is a very interesting setup. Could easily result in an enhanced band somewhere.

994mb over Charlotte WOW. Why is the QPF so low? I know we are an the leeward side, but I would expect a decent amount of moisture to survive?

I don't see how anything of measure will stick from this thing tonight in the Triangle.

Hard for me to be too bullish on this right now either. Too warm out there. Of course there could be some real development (fill in) tonight on the radar. We'll need some temp drops as well. Guess we'll see.

I think it's time we all give up on this. We've all been fooled by another "unique" clipper situation where once again, no current environmental conditions support snow. Maybe if we could have kept temps in the mid 30s, we'd have had a shot. But looking at the current radar and current temps, we'll be hard pressed to see a dusting in the Triangle.

And I am THIS close to throwing in the towel for the Monday storm too. There are just too many things that can go wrong, any one of which will completely screw us here.
