tmagan
I know it is nitpicking, but I am surprised that the NWS is going with three inches for the city as a minimum. I think it should be one or two inches as a minimum.

jconsor
Looks like a very quick hit on the NAM with a narrow band of moderate to heavy precip. I'm concerned there will be a mix or change to rain along the South Shore and Twin Forks of Suffolk County, with ESE winds in the low levels warming the boundary layer. 6z NAM revives the Norlun event a bit over L.I., with the north central part of the Island around 0.50" liquid for today. isnice
This is a little surprising...about 0.5" already on the ground here in central NJ. Ratios must be very high- snow is very powdery.

cut
Light snow in Trumbull CT. Roads are a bit coated, and the intensity has picked up over the last 5 minutes (still light though ... I can still see across the valley .... at least 3/4 of a mile).
cnjraider
Light snow and a coating here. It is a dry/fluffy snow. Close to a 1/2" of snow here in C NJ. Snowing very lightly. Looks like slightly heavier precip to west. Probably 2 to 3 hours of approximately 1/3" - 1/2"/hr. Unless something changes on radar, that should be it for the main accumulation. FPizz
I'm up at work in the Bedminster area, and it is snowing pretty good here. Looks like that heavier band on radar is covering this area now. Looks like a 1/2" here. Maybe we can add an inch on top of that.

Gotta love calm falling snow I've never understood that--even during the blizzard-how long were you stuck inside, 24 hrs? Do people really need that many provisions??? Drive safely if you are out on the road. Hopefully, it will hold together. It seems that at least in southern Westchester County, there is still a lot of drier air in the column: one can almost see the bluish tint of the sky through the clouds as a very light snow falls.
