Diego
Noticed that a few flakes started falling here. So at the very least, we'll be guaranteed a trace.
SnowGoose69
Quite amazing how the models predicted the precip would make it to just south of NYC and then be shunted away...which seems to be happening. I think its made it further and will overall make it a bit further north than modeled, I still believe eastern LI from the Hamptons east to Montauk will see 4-5 inches of snow. SnowGoose69
I posted similar thoughts earlier. I was referring to this initial wave. It will certainly snow over Suffolk this evening and overnight tonight... The SPC WRF indicate decent snows back to Nassau with a bit of pivoting and briefly what appeared to be a second band forming, although its probably a stretch, I could see up to 2 inches in eastern Nassau, especially SE. TwcMan
Flurries falling here in Avenel, NJ....We are suppose to get 2-4 inches...I don't think that's happening.
jm1220
We had an attempt at flurries about a half hour ago but it's ended and the sun is visible through the thin layer of clouds we have. Always a terrible snow growth sign.

TwcMan
Light snow here. Maybe a quarter inch. Wow...what a difference about 10 miles can make. Only flurries here on the eastern side of Middlesex.
TwcMan
Maybe it's just my eyes but it seems to me that there is some more development across central NJ. Any thoughts? http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=DIX&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=yes
winterwx21
light snow falling here in edison....mt holly just updated still going 2-4....i hope I'd be stunned if we get 2 to 4. The models don't support it and radar looks terrible. Mount Holly went too far north with the 2 to 4 prediction. We'll be lucky to see an inch here in northern Middlesex County. Kingwill
Maybe it's just my eyes but it seems to me that there is some more development across central NJ. Any thoughts? http://radar.weather...101111&loop=yes We had an hr of Moderate to Heavy snow here in (hillsborough) Somerset County picking up almost an inch in that time. Light snow falling for the past hr or so. Looks like somewhere around 1.5 to 2 inches so far. Side Roads were covered now can see some blacktop. SnowGoose69
assuming that band does hold together there will be a period of snow for the NYC metro...as I said earlier, given the radar echoes the ground observations over E PA and NJ have been better than you would think. Yeah, the radar has been consistently underestimating the intensity of snow here. Up to about 1.25-1.5 inches now for today.

Jefflaw77
as per the latest radar- long island must be utilizing its ANTI SHOW SHIELD. It's amazing how snow cannot penetrate the island... The last time i saw this was on 2/6/10... Fun day...
weathermedic
The northern end of that band has made it into Staten Island. Hearing sanitation telling their salt spreaders to begin dropping salt on the roads.
