Edge Weather
Through 24 hrs the WRF-ARW brings the .25 line to the same place that the NAM does, about 20 miles north of Trenton to just south of Long Island. The .1 line goes north to about Rt. 78 and then northeast to just east of Rt. 287 and covers NYC and eastern Long Island. Sussex and Warren Counties of NJ are left out. MJO812
NYC ARW has .25 + NMM has about .10.
Manny
NYC ARW has .25 + NMM has about .10. I think its best to go with 1-2" of snow for the City, with 3 being an option, just based on variant model guidance--better to mix higher amounts with lower amount models are producing. Edge Weather
Through 33 hours WRF-ARW has .5 nearly touching the entire coast of NJ and Long Island, so the coastal areas are nearly .5 and the .5 area does actually cover a small part of central Long Island just east of JFK. ag3
I can't believe the euro people totally skipped this event. It must show zero.

Tombo said .1-.25 for Philly, much less qpf, so guessing northern areas like us don't get as much either, but idk.

ict1523
Well, we got a nice fresh coating over our snowpack which has now iced over. Whatever we get tomorrow will be a nice bonus. I'm surprised at how long this snow lasted. Its been a while since solid snowcover has lasted so long here in Queens.
tmagan
Judging by the 03Z SREFS, you have to be in Suffolk County, and realistically the Twin Forks to see anything out of Saturday nights storm.
winterwx21
6z NAM backed off from the 0z run ... much less precip. I wasn't expecting much from this anyway. At least we have a potential major storm to track for next week.

tmagan
Judging by the 06Z RGEM 'snapshot' maps, which is a dangerous thing to do, it might come in wetter for Long Island.

tmagan
Wow, 06Z RGEM has all of Long Island over 10 mm. That would be at least four inches of snow and has a over 30 mm max just south and east of Suffolk County.

tmagan
thats for todays storm? Yes, it only goes out 48 hours. By the way, for the Tuesday/Wednesday storm, it has at least half a foot for Atlanta. Considering, just about everything aviation wise goes through Atlanta, you can see how next week can become a disaster if you are flying in the east.
