joey
I believe it blew today's forecast...I never looked at it but I did see some images people posted here...it may have had the generaly placement of the heavier snows right though. IT actually was spot on with a 2-4 in western areas. Less for eastern sections.

Alpha5
Heavy snow back again. large dendrites....I think thats what makes these event so great, the dynamics are such that if you're lucky your going to get buried in a short period of time especially thanks to the good lifting and omega in the snow growth region. Thats what makes our dendrites so nice

That's generally what the hi-res models are good for. They always overdo the QPF, but nail the spatial features.
ag3
Last band pretty intense and its pretty much saving this event for NE Queens. Approaching 1", maybe a little more on grassy surfaces and some sidewalks and side streets finally covered.
swataz
I am in Islandia currently and there is no sticking going on. In fact it was drizzling before. Meanwhile, someone in Coram says they have 2 or 3 inches. Odd.
Snowshack
I am in Islandia currently and there is no sticking going on. In fact it was drizzling before. Meanwhile, someone in Coram says they have 2 or 3 inches. Odd. Yes, same here in Hauppauge. Wet ground, snow has been occassionally moderate, but mostly light and mixed with some rain. Sounds like the north shore is doing better, both east and west of here.

NorthShoreWx
0.6" here from the latest round of light snow that has now tapered to very light flurries. Not sure if the nice band to the west will do much for us.

RU848789
Snow pretty much ended here in Rahway (Union County) around 1 pm and we've seen some peeks of sun. Final tally: 2.75" of nice white, fluffy snow (looks to be a low bulk density snow, with big flakes leaving lots of airspaces and allowing more accumulation than one would normally expect for the mass of snow that fell. A-L-E-X
4.5" of snow on the ground in Port Jeff as of 3:00 PM, though, before you suggest I've made a faulty measurement, only 2.0" of the snow is from today's storm... wow, huge difference between the shores with this one-- nada on the roads and maybe half an inch on car tops. so 0.5 here
