doncat
Measured 2.5 in. here. Main roads stayed mostly wet but side streets and sidewalks accumulated 1-2 in.
nzucker
Amen to that, its great out there. Snow falling nicely, no winds to blow everything around and destroy the dendrites. Almost looks like Narnia out there......the things and inverted trough can do for you. Its a shame we dont get these more often Here too in Dobbs Ferry, it's just a gorgeous scene. About 4" on the ground. 31.7/30 -SN

psv88
The beauty of the internet is that you don't have to think out loud. Backspace and say what you mean, extreme pet peeve right there. Moderate snow here in commack. point taken
danstorm
lol youre like in a different world from here, basically nothing has stuck, even when its been snowing. A different world, indeed. Sorry to my NYC brethren ... it is an absolute winter paradise here in elevated SW Ct.
jm1220
NMM isn't very impressed by tomorrow's event for Long Island and keeps the snow south and eventually east other than light stuff. ARW on the other hand pretty much detonates a bomb from NYC east and has heavy snow almost all day, 0.75"+ liquid from the NJ shore northeast to Boston. Absolute Humidity
This reminds me of an event in January 2009, that was not forecast to be anything more than flurries, but gave much of CNJ 4". I think I had around 2 that day. Funny that you mentioned that one, I remember it well, ARW had me bullseyed inside 24 for 4". It ended up being 15 miles to the north and left me high and dry with 1/2". I do not envy yousr and SnowGoose task at hand for tomorrow. Good luck. ict1523
Heavy snow with big flakes again. The roads have re-whitened and there is about an inch on grassy surfaces and existing snow.
LocoAko
Final total in Jersey City, NJ: 2.7". It is almost all slush here in the city as we mixed with drizzle at the very end of the event and the sun is now shining.

SG, why is there such a lag in the snowfall getting here? It just started getting heavier and started sticking to surfaces. Is the precip really moving that slowly? eduggs
4.5" in western Putnam. 31.4F at low elevation. Currently a rebounding burst of moderate snow. Someone with a little elevation off the the ESE could see 7" or 8" out of this.

Brian5671
Somehow I just dont see the ARW verifying - snow winding down here-about 2 inches in that heavy burst. I'll take it. Ridgefield/Danbury big winners-cashing in on that slight upslope.

Is the precip really moving that slowly? I'm not the biggest radar expert here, but I have heard that sometimes for whatever reason, there is a lag time with snow reflectivity on radar. Guest Patrick
Snow finally ended here in Clifton, NJ, with a final total of 4.5 Accumulated very well from about 6a.m., had good dbz overhead through about noon. A nice little event... the roads have turned from "white" to "wet," and the trees are stunning.

IT actually was spot on with a 2-4 in western areas. Less for eastern sections.
