CTWeatherFreak
I'll take a SWFE. A reasonably decent front end dump would beat spending 10 days tracking 13 flakes. please, somebody, what is 'SWFE'?
DomNH
please, somebody, what is 'SWFE'? Southwest flow event.

CTWeatherFreak
GFS and EURO loom large, tonight. dont they always?
ROOSTA
I'd give it a Hybrid. It's a southern stream system that gets captured by a northern stream s/w on roids. They are the best kind. Overachievers for sure, and easier to forecast. Huge model runs this week.

DomNH
For a Joe Shi*terhagman solution, I'm loving the look of the NAM. Probably dumps a ton of QPF in the later frames.

You get some sleet on the NAM solution basically but probably yes until the dryslot.
DomNH
You get some sleet on the NAM solution basically but probably yes until the dryslot. Maybe, but a hell of a front end dump if that happens. Of course, talking p-type on an extrapolated NAM solution is futile.

Yeah that is a really juicy looking system on the NAM. Hopefully in the end we get the mid-level redevelopment to the south of SNE which would maximize potential....but even a solution like the NAM is a pretty heavy snow dump. ORH_wxman
GFS is def not as amped up as the NAM.
weathafella
GFS stays the course. I think this is a pretty strong and tendency to hug solution in the end but NAM is probably overdone. It gave the signal on this weekend's event and then backed down to earth.

CT Rain
8-12 for us on GFS. My gut tells me this winds up between the NAM and GFS which is pretty ideal for most of us.
dendrite
GFS is def not as amped up as the NAM. It's more amped than the 18z gfs though.

Tropopause_Fold
Globals have been pretty damn consistent...much easier on them when there aren't 50 vortmaxes spinning through the flow.

ORH_wxman
That ML center redevelops very rapidly on the GFS. One minute its well W and then all of the sudden its popped a new center S of SNE.
weathafella
It's more amped than the 18z gfs though. In one sense yes but in another no. Yes in terms of mslp, no in terms of qpf. I thought QPF for the path made sense at 18Z but mslp was silly looking.
weathafella
H7 low west of the GFS...we've seen this before...not good. Secondary. 81 hour well west, 84 secondary rapidly forming and complete by 87. Otherwise its a swfe. A hybrid in the end?
