Ginx snewx
Portland, ME needs to make the list! I think Portland has the best shot of us all of really getting a Norlun but if Synoptics take over I favor NE MA and CC

PWMan
Rock chalk! Again, I'm liking the modeling today. Unfortunately, there's lots of upheaval and this may move right on up the coast in actuality. I still think it's coming down to watching radar over the weekend to figure out who scores and who hangs their heads. Yep, we know the inverted trough drill by now around here. No sense expending much time or energy on QPF totals or bulleyes more than 12-24 hours in advance, but the trends/flips have been interesting to follow. Logan11
Stephanie Abrams was calling the inverted trough a "Norlun" this morning.... She looked very good btw. ...also said she was emailing some fellow "wx geek" in Boston about it.... She looked very good btw. ...also said she was emailing some fellow "wx geek" in Boston about it.... Meh, she's a loud mouthed hack with an annoying accent. I was more impressed with the guy on there who was showing the GFS frame by frame 15 days out and showing 850 temps (and showing people how to convert 850 temps to sea level temps!) for the big arctic plunge and mapping out all the coastal threats from now through MLK Day. He also mentioned the norlun, described its physics and went into great detail about upcoming threats. They must know we criticize them for not being professional. Ginx snewx
Probably about which room to go to....thanks for the update...will check my messages.. What is very good to hear was our Admin Assistant asking me where I thought the Norlun would set up! She heard it explained on Channel 3 news this AM! Man I told Ryan to do that the other day and he balked, people are not as stupid as the media portrays as a general group, sure there are idiots who get all the attention but there are far more savvy viewers than most credit.. CoastalWx
Yeah...whoever gets the bands will be in good lift and good snow growth by primarily deposition. My debate with him was actually on whether all of SNE should get WSWs. I actually agree with it for the western zones. Maybe more zones will get a WSW later as it may be a time period thing. We'll see. LOL, he'll be all over this. Convective Cumulus clouds have tons of water vapor, so this should have some good dendrites.

ski MRG
Sun already looking milky here at 2k. Typical pre snow look. We're going to get a nice thump up here. Town highway guys already doing pre-game warm up. Elevation FTW. Nice to see the wsw posted as well. Nice call by the Blizz. The faithful shall reap the benefits. ORH_wxman
Oh great. I'm going to have to hear his "AWT" garbage. lol A watch doesn't totally surprise me, but we'll see if it ends up a warning or an prolonged advisory. I thought the WSW for NYC was a bit bullish and this one is too. I do understand that its possible to see warning amounts, but in this setup that is very uncertain. cpickett79
the intersting thing to watch will be who will be the one under a WSW forecast to get X inches of snow and ends up with 80% Less and jumps off the cliff. i don't think i will be under any sort of modeled jackpot or warning away from the coast and away from the E slope......but i hope MPM scores on this one....otherwise he will probably be biting his nails drinking 24 diet cokes as we watches the bands set up 15 miles to his west.
