Its beautiful up there, but not much to do outside of skiing and boarding.

I kid. The town is dead. It died when people like my Nana (who ran one of the hotels up there) left in the early 70's. Of course, it hit rock bottom (where it still is) when the Concord shut down in the late 90's (97 I believe considering the last moment I remember from there was the Bills losing to the Jaugars in a AFC wild card game). But I digress...

The Concord? You aren't talking about the plane from France are you?

That was a resort up there, I believe, Will. Do you need some sleep?

For some reason, all this talk of a deserted ski town and an abandoned hotel is reminding me of the Shining. Maybe Jack Nicholson is wandering around up there with a hachet in his hands.....

This one. Though I can also talk about the Concorde, if you would like to Will.

They used to fly overhead every morning at 8:43 am.... I used to think they were way too loud, but after they got discontinued, I started missing them lol.

My favorite plane as a child..I was literally obsessed. Used to shake my house every morning and I lived pretty far away from the airport..in Mill Basin, Brooklyn.

You could buy a house in Monticello for the price of a roundtrip on the Concorde.

As for the 6z NAM, I believe it has shifted the precip max slightly to the north....

Mine too! I got pics of one of the last flights sometime in 2003, as it flew right over my house. That thing was always on time-- its a pity it got shut down.
