It died when people like my Nana (who ran one of the hotels up there) left in the early 70's. Of course, it hit rock bottom (where it still is) when the Concord shut down in the late 90's (97 I believe considering the last moment I remember from there was the Bills losing to the Jaugars in a AFC wild card game). (closer to 6-8" on Central and Eastern LI )....8-12" for Litchfield Co, CT..generally 2-5" southwest of NYC in those burbs and 1-3" as you get more towards Central NJ.
