Baroclinic Zone
Just an abysmal year for snow thus far. The Whites don't look so white. Mt Jefferson and "Knee" on the left and Mt Adams on right. Ball Crag on left and Mt Jefferson and "Knee" on the right. My daughter on the trail with Mt Madison in the rear.
Avdave
That looks to change soon, nice pics though. Are you a X country skier too bob?
bowtie`
At least there is enough snow to cross-country ski some. Nice pics of the local conditions.
whitemountainhiker
It was MUCH better just a few days ago, before the almost literal torch this weekend. Carter Notch hut had 2+ feet before the weekend...and now they are down to 7 inches! They are up at 3200 feet. The temp inversion killed the mtns this weekend. Thankfully it will add up again soon. Thanks No, that was the first time I had ever gone. At least there is enough snow to cross-country ski some. Nice pics of the local conditions. The majority of it is likely man-made. Jackson XC Center is not even open. It was MUCH better just a few days ago, before the almost literal torch this weekend. It was ugly Phil. Places a bit North and East did better in the snow department. Nice pictures - What a graphic example of what the temperature inversion can do. The mountains are bare! Yup, I believe Washington was in the upper 30's that day. It was about 40 where we were.
