I think the NAM is setting us up for some variation of the 06z GFS. I could see a fairly long duration light snowfall event as the systems "connect", with a moderate burst near the end as we get the vort energy through.

Looks like the 006 DGEX has a slightly different solution to throw on the table. Hard to read from the charts I have available but it looks like it brings the southern low a little farther north off of Cape Hatteras and the out to sea. Looks like some interaction with that low as it leaves and with the northern energy that is sweeping behind it so it does provide for a decent snow.

Think the 06Dgex was showing this.

sounds good. Nice light snowfall for a day to two would be a nice treat for us who have had none lately.I,m not greedy

I would love that. As long as its dark and grey outside to go along with it. I'd get the thrill of the "snow scene" without the work that goes with cleaning up a ton of it.

Sorry to hear all this. Thanks for posting this though. Sometimes I need to be reminded that there are much more important things than weather.

Sorry, I know this isn't storm related. Maybe, though, we can all keep it in perspective.

thanks for you and the other gentlemen's sentiments. I really appreciate them. Now back to the weather. I,m looking forward to a nice snowfall, maybe not heavy or big, just a nice snowfall. As you get older, I,m 63 you kinda mellow in your expectations . True monsters are hard to get, as Wes will tell you. Yes Wes I miss the golden yesterdays when that ""heavy snow warning """ went up It meant watch out , its a coming up the coast. Peple would talk about it in the malls and other places. That was the goldne catch phrase for a big one.

I want enought to get out my snowblower that I prepared for the Dec 26th snow and never got to use. Changed the oil and filled her up with gas and their she sits.

I still have some Blizzard Wizard sitting around after last year. I wouldn't mind needing to drop a little of that down on a freshly shoveled driveway.

I am so sorry to hear that, he can be a bit abrasive at times just ignore it.

laugh.gif Ok dude. No comment there. I simply asked a question...do you think that I meant to open old wounds or something? I guess you would rather have Trixie on you.

As I recall the few back and forths I had with you were pretty tame as well. Don't know what I did to get on your bad side. But all I know is that back on Eastern I was always the one to give friendly nudges rather than bring the wrath down.

Take your beef with me elsewhere...rolleyes.gif

I have no beef with you at all and i think your a nice guy, it is just that post seemed a little abrasive and the guy was obviously going through a hard time which you did not know about. It is all good  .

Alright. You and me are cool bro. Just had no way of knowing about the guys hard times. Never "attempt" to be abrasive but apologies if I come across that way. I just wondered if he had noticed in the past years the absence of the heavy snow warnings. Other than that...just answered is question.

No problem overall but I'll get back on topic now!

no you had no way of knowing. I normally read the discussions, but as you can guess, I haven't had much time. No problem. Now back to the weather.

Folks north of the MD line want some monster wound-up phase thing. Not sure we really do.

this is pretty close to ideal for us i think... i mean i'd take a bigger coastal i still dont see it being that likely tho

If we can get 1 inch tomorrow and then 3"-6" on Tuesday i will be happier than a pig in mud. We got so spoiled last winter, until then what is coming up would have had everyone thrilled.

give up on big amplification.. it's not happening imo

The 102 hr is showing the same double barrel/ west extension low structure that the 06Z was showing. Not sure why but it washes that completely out in the following frames which doesn't look quite right to me. I would think that the main low would be pulled back towards the coast if that is accurate and not out to sea. But what do I know. :)
