Yorkpa25
Seems the 12z nam has been much juicier for the mid Atlantic, moreso then the 6 and 18z nam. I believe this next run will hold if not be more juicy

mitchnick
He has one but it's just because he wears his shirts inside out he can do what he wants with his shirts, for the sake of anyone in his home, keep the underwear right side out! TowsonWeather
I dunno...I'm sure it's just rampant weenie-tastic logic and wishcasting run amok, but I was expecting things to look bleak this morning. Everything I see, from pressures to radar looks pretty promising to me. If we can somehow get 4-6 inches out of this that'll go a long way towards making me feel better about this winter. At the very least, that blossoming virga over VA/MD should help moisten the atmosphere so that things get going quicker later.

If we can get 4-6 inches out of this, we'll be just about exactly where we should be at this point in January for the season, going by averages. Maybe even ahead. Easy to forget that after last year. mitchnick
Snowing at BWI now. I don't see a flake birds are going crazy fwiw, eating the buds of the trees they go after before it snows yes, it does happen, for whatever reason, they eat the buds off these trees every time before it snows, but that ain't saying how much we're gonna get
Yorkpa25
Hopefully 12z nam holds, not sure if it means much at this stage. Find it depressing that state college dropped the accumulations for south central pa from 3-6 to 2-5 after latest nam

caviman2201
With a 29:1 ratio though, that's hard to believe Agreed, but that 2.2" per hour was at 19:1 ratios which, while a bit high, is not completely unbelievable for the height of the energy transfer, at night, with temps around

WxUSAF
19:1 ratios which, while a bit high, is not completely unbelievable for the height of the energy transfer, at night, with temps around 30 Yeah, pretty much they are unbelievable. Takes a very rare situation to get ratios better than 15:1 around here. 8-12:1 are climo and are what occur for probably >80% of all snowfalls.
