Ian
even though he may be right in the I95 corridor, I think the heavier snow in the Shend/Valley than us is absurd yeah the heavier stuff to the west of us kinda sticks out like a sore thumb
Ian
at 36 gfs does look a bit better at least
TowsonWeather
yeah the heavier stuff to the west of us kinda sticks out like a sore thumb And he has NE MD and the Upper Eastern Shore still in the light stuff, too. That map is horrible. Can't believe that was done by a professional...wow.
yoda
hooray! -5 UVV's at 36! http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/12/images/gfs_700_036l.gif
clskinsfan
Assuming better than climo ratios (so, 12-13:1)...if LWX is riding the NAM, I'd expect Warnings for Balt City, Balt County, and Harford County and then Advisories for most of the rest of the area (except far west toward Winchester). What else is new?
Ian
hooray! -5 UVV's at 36! http://www.nco.ncep....fs_700_036l.gif better than 6z at least

TowsonWeather
500mb actually looks significantly BETTER on this run (the shortwave continues to dig further S)...the surface still looks meh, however. I think the difference is, the GFS lets more of the energy from the southern piece slide a little further away (E) than the NAM, and it subsequently takes a lot longer to get organized. EasternUSWX
better than 6z at least Defiantly seems to took a step toward the NAM.

MD Snow
GOOD run on the GFS. Just literally need it to bomb about 40 miles south and we're in business.
Ian
nice move toward nam.. or they are moving together. but there is some consistency b/w the two at least!!
TowsonWeather
42h panel will probably pop based on the upper levels - might be too late for us though.

WxUSAF
EM should be along to defend this any minute Been wondering why he isn't here defending Accuwx's honor. I want to know how this ridiculous map squares with Accuwx's call for "heavy snow" in the DC-BOS corridor from 5 days ago. Oh and also how they had Atlanta and other big Southern cities barely in the "icing" area if anything at all. What's ATL have now, 4"+?

TUweathermanDD
I'd expect a better precip shield and surface reflectiOn with the ul's being more namish this run. Good that I still get 3-4 inches this run even without what the run could've been. Hope the surface catches up and I believe it could.

stormtracker
it's going to be too late.. give up on it hitting us with wraparound etc unless you're way ne you might get in on the first bits of it Lets just all accept the fact that we'll get a nice 6 hour period of light to moderate snow and call it a day. No need to be negative, but lets be realistic.
