Western PA is under a WSW and the NC portion of your map is off. Western NC is forecasted 4-8 inches and it will probably snow at least a couple inches with some ice in the area just south of KRDU/KRWI .

As said before, the main focus of the map was with the area from RIC to BOS.. The revised edition, I am currently making is addressing those issues. Thanks for the comment !

I say you stick with your forecast and not worry about forecasts for areas you don't give two damns about. Besides, it's *your* forecast - no one else's!

Maybe even more than that lol.

yeah perhaps my rough calculation was 89% of storms are less than 6" in dc going back to the 1800s so i scaled back a little for further north but my numbers are admittedly roug.h a more recent comparo is probably higher.

OT but as I've said before...if this snow hole BS keeps up I think the severe lovers (Ellinwood, Yoda, You and Me) should just separate and whoever else who wants to come can. We'll just wish for severe instead.

why does anyone bother watching the local TV weather geeks? i honestly cant stand any of the local news stations period.

To give credit where credit is due, for the 12/26 storm Tony Pann from Channel 11 was only calling for 1-4" while everyone else was calling for much more and as you know he was the only one who was close.

Yes, I remember that. It was depressing and I was hoping he was wrong, but Tom Tasselmyer is a great met.

there are certainly a handful of tv mets around here who are pretty good.. in dc bob ryan and doug hill downplayed 12/26 till when everyone jumped on a little... and it was the nws' fault they raised their numbers anyway. :P the weekend guys are iffy but that's pretty true anywhere.

He is actually the 3rd string weather guy on Channel 11 here and even while everyone was upping their totals he never waffled and said 1-4", it was actually a pretty impressive call.
