mitchnick
You know western PA is under a WSW right? yeah, I think he's light for PA, but looks good (as in forecast not my satisfaction!) along Central and Eastern MD/NVA

The 500mb map would be an improvement here... but it is probably the odd man out.
mitchnick
I'm bailing if we don't see a better trend at 00z. 3 inches or bust IMO..I think...hmm look, I'll say it if you or someone else won't we're sitting here waiting for some model, any model, to go bonkers and give us 6-10", but deep down we know it won't snow that much OK, I feel better

benjammin
yeah, I think he's light for PA, but look good (as in forecast not my satisfaction!) along Central and Eastern MD/NVA I think it's significantly too light for W. North Carolina as well but I don't think it was a focus of the forecast.
Dr No
What do you all think of the SREFs? I cant believe it takes the primary up to Detroit/Cleveland as a near consensus. No wonder it burnt us last storm.

Dr No
And now for something completely different... the frontal low that brought the MA a foot of snow. Seriously, what is the GFS thinking between 180-204hrs? shhhhh! We arent allowed to talk about that storm in this thread. You'll get a finger wagged at you. wxmeddler
You know western PA is under a WSW right? Granted yes, but most of that accumulation will come from up-slope or lake effect enhancement well behind the system. So its like an in-direct snow. EDIT: Yeah, I know areas west of the apps aren't covered exactly. Main concern area was RIC to BOS.
blizzardmeiser
Looks like you are in the 1-3" and i am in the 3-6" on his map . 3-6 for Balt is a safe bet. Of course until the 00z models come out!

I'm with Wes on this one not great, but they do get better 2nd 1/2 of storm if we average 12:1, that would probably be the best at least the fluffier snow would fall later so you wouldn't have it beating itself down (oh, how the weenie mind works)
