famartin
2 weeks man 2 weeks then it will be back to coming up earlier again, it was nice, but the end of the day is the better offset which now more people after they get done work can get more things done outside in their yards with more sunlight up untill 7:05 for today and each day gaining on either side of the sunrise sunset. So i think we can sacrifice the change to have an offset for now. But it would be great to have this change of the clocks go bye bye. For people with normal jobs, I suppose that's true. Then there's us mets.
LMolineuxLM1
For people with normal jobs, I suppose that's true. Then there's us mets. You got a point there. Only problem with more sunlight is that the people who work overnight and sleep during the day its gotta suck because of the longer more light during the day so its like sleep can be altered alot. JCT777
now more people after they get done work can get more things done outside in their yards with more sunlight This might help people who live in southern zones, but those of us in the northern zones won't be cutting grass or planting anything until at least April. I much preferred DST to start the first weekend of April - which is three weeks later than now (not two weeks). I was really liking the sunrise before 6:30 AM - since I normally get up before 6 AM. Since the extra daylight in the evening really has no benefit to me until I need to cut grass or until I can plant things...I'd rather have the earlier daylight. It's good to see there is only one rain event forecast for our region over the next 7 days...and it doesn't look to be as wet as the past few. Parsley
Last March's nor'easter was rather exciting, yes? I honestly forgot all about it. If there is one rain event/non-snowstorm I remember from last year, its the 11.00"+ inches that soaked my house at the end of September 2010,
Thunder Road
I honestly forgot all about it. If there is one rain event/non-snowstorm I remember from last year, its the 11.00"+ inches that soaked my house at the end of September 2010, That storm was crazy. We got 5" of rain and the Neshaminy Creek didn't even reach flood stage because it had been so dry. This week we got < 1.50" and we saw flooding. March 2010 was the most wicked non-winter storm I've ever seen though.
Parsley
March 2010 was the most wicked non-winter storm I've ever seen though. I'm embarrassed to say I forgot about it. Now, my family on Long Island got rocked from that storm with 70+ mph winds with a line of storms. I can't believe I had no recollection of it til you guys reminded me. phlwx
Mid to upper 70s Friday with 850s around 11C? Almost 12c on the 0z GFS last night. i'm tempted to buy 75 on Friday for SE PA...Philly probably gets a river screwing though with a SW wind and "only" gets lower 70's. Am I nuts or is that possible with almost 50 degree temps at the surface? It can sleet/graupel with temps in the 40's...depends on layer of subfreezing air plus also dry air to aid in evap cooling. Not sure what the 5000'-8000' foot layer was like but it wouldn't surprise me if some folks were sleeted upon briefly last night on the front end, especially in the higher elevations. Am I nuts or is that possible with almost 50 degree temps at the surface? I experienced the same in N. Berks. Brief but a few sleet pellets in there. I was putting my snow shovels back in the shed, for the season. It reminds me of a certain Boyz2Men song..."Its so hard to say goodbye" Bring on the Spring!
