greg ralls
It's actually just a nice winter day outside. Cold, but not brutally chilling. Someone (not a layman like me) needs to start a thread for the big Miller A threat next week.

famartin
If I had to spit out a forecast I'd say "an inch of slop" for Trenton on Saturday, but wouldn't be surprised if it went either way.
Voyager
They set an all-time record low maximum yesterday with a high of only 14. That's pretty incredible. I haven't had a daytime high less than 20 degrees yet this winter.
phlwx
They set an all-time record low maximum yesterday with a high of only 14. Jesus. That's cold for them. I've been impressed with the insanely low Td's over the SW -- LA getting single digit dewpoints is pretty rare for them, even with an offshore flow, isn't it? Parsley
Current snow depth: I went out on my snowpack today to try and estimate the depth (without a ruler). Looks to be 7 or 8 inches. I stood on top of the snowpack and fell only about 2 or 3 inches into it before the compacted icy glacier held my weight. Down to 18 degrees here at 10:15pm

Harbourton
I will never badmouth a La Nina again even if the next time it blowtorches. On a serious note does anyone know how to get temps for the year that most fits this winter - I think it was 1917-1918?

After this winter and last, you'd think someone would really work hard to figure out a way to forecast the AO and NAO at longer time scales, considering that they essentially ruled the roost. This January we barely had any... 5th least snowy on record.
Parsley
So, with temperatures in the upper 30s today, and a fair amount of high and mid level clouds, not a damn thing melted today. Amazing.
