Saw that. Looks like it pivots that axis of snow over the city (whereas previous runs kept it further S/E I believe?) GL OL. Moderate snow here now. Maybe 1/2 an inch on the ground. Maybe 1/2 an inch on the ground. it was S and W actually, towards bancroft and down through the eastern shore of lake ontario. its such a narrow region we will have to see where it setsup tomorrow. unusual setup, tough to pin down. glad you're getting some snow too, saw the traffic pics in the other thread, probably gonna be a rough rush hour in YYZ
snowstormcanuck
I doubt it. It isnt a very big town. It is close to Red Deer. But Ive been to Kingston as well. Both pretty nice towns, But I liked Olds a lot better. Was treated pretty rudely in Kingston lol. But yea, Ive been all over Canada. Banff had to be my favorite place. Amazing. Been to Kingston once when I was a kid. Don't remember the excessive rudeness, but I'll watch out for that next time I'm there.

That's what I meant. Yeah, it's a tough forecast considering how narrow that snow band will be. Sort of an inland norlun I guess? And it's a rough rush hour here when the sky is sunny and temps are warm, so you can imagine.

Youre Canadian, you wont have a problem.. It was when Bush was president. I had a woman in Ontario throw a pop bottle at my car and told me to leave their country lol. Oddly enough, I was leaving heading into Detroit from Kingston lol

Liberals here have a complex about the United States and a very few of the nuts aren't shy about taking it out on American visitors, especially when Bush was in office. Yea lol, aside from a couple bad apples everyone else was nice. Heck I traveled all across Canada, and there was only a couple bad thins that happened in Ontario. Kingston someone was yelling at me at a grocery store, and in Windsor, the bottle throwing lol. If you ever get the chance go to Banff in the winter. Just amazing. Had to of been 7 or 8 feet of snow. Then of course the mountains. I'd love to go back someday. Anyways back to the clippers... Ive picked up 1/2 inch so far. a little more on the roads. It wasn't just the people who voted liberal, everyone seemed to be on some anti-Bush lovedrug for a while. Weather station reports 0.3cm so far from this clipper. And yeah, Bush's unpopularity transcended party lines, but for anybody to take it out on innocent tourists is moronic. Moderate snow continues, but smaller flakes now. Probably a little over an inch. snowstormcanuck
congrats, got around an inch here, but the roads are horrible. Every little bit helps. Might be tough to get a 6"+ this winter. My eyeball method is indeed accurate. 1.9" down. Back edge is approaching, so my 2-3" call looks excellent. It'll be funny when you get to and surpass me in season snowfall, say sometime in the next 30-40 days. What did I have...a 15-16" cushion at one point? Meh, you said the same thing last year, it didn't happen. Maybe more of a race this year, but I think you could come out on top. Remember, a lot of mets are progging big time blocking to return. Remember, a lot of mets are progging big time blocking to return. A lot of Mets called for a se ridge in January and warmth after December for the eastern third. Tough to forecast teleconnections past a few days just like the storms. I still think the great lakes area will be fine.

Remember, a lot of mets are progging big time blocking to return. Well if I keep saying it every winter, it'll have to come true at some point. But we'll see man. Even if any blocking returns, it doesn't mean it'll be the exact same strength/location as before. Don Sunderland threw out that 2000-01 analog (along with a few others) in his January outlook, and I knew our goose may be cooked. Could be time to pay the piper down here. Toronto4
Moderate to heavy snowfall in downtown Toronto. I would say at least 2 inches on the ground.

In the last 10 minutes it's really lightened up here. Looks like there's some subsidence on either side of that convective looking band moving through downtown. Torontonian
Moderate to heavy snowfall in downtown Toronto. I would say at least 2 inches on the ground. I have barely posted since winter 2007-08. A little burst of snow, like this couple of inches, seems exciting. Yawn Hopefully this La Nina will produce a couple decent events later this winter. michsnowfreak
I dont really know whats clipper and whats LES. All I know is had about 1.5" of fluffy snowfall today, like the 20-1 ratio type, so it looks like winter again Though there is some synoptic support, Im going to post mostly in the LES thread. SSC, anyone else, your welcome to as well, if youre getting some LES or Lake enhancement!

And I can understand why you haven't posted since that winter (although the first half of 2008-09 was excellent). I wouldn't bet on anything big this winter, so we'll have to be content with events reaching the mere "shovellable" threshold.

There was some lake enhancement east of mby but not here. Not so much fluff here. More a dense powder. I'd say 13-15:1 type snow.
