to my friends over in Asheville................the band that passed through here appears to be holding together as it heads toward you guys. There was extremely heavy snow in this band when it came through earlier this morning. I hope it holds for you guys. It was awesome to see.

Thanks. It is amazing when those heavy areas come through.

Great to see the mountain peeps cashing in. Woke to another 4 for a total of 13 ". I've heard reports up to 20 in spots. There's a band moving through right now that's amazing. Wait until this hits you!!

I bet it has been unreal there. I'm probably at about 4 inches now. I hope that band survives the trip. 13 inches! Think where you may be sitting a few days from now.

I would have loved to have seen this.

Three inches fell between 7 and 8 a.m. in the Flat Springs area of Avery County,

said Blair Holloway, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

“Looking at the radar, there are still several bands of heavy snow to come through,” he said.

wow temperatures are absolutely crashing with this second band of snowfall... we have fallen 3.3 degrees in the last 14 minutes.

Wind is howling making visibility quite low too!

Temp: 25.1 degrees

Humidity: 86%

Same thing here Phil. Wind is howling & we are at 25.5°. The band seems to be weakening on radar but looks like a decent bit of snow to come.
