Because I am a nerd ...can we please refer to them as SPV, because they clearly are not polar vortexes because they are in the sub-domain. PV is essentially the annular ring around the pole

I hope it does this time :snowman:

Sure John, anything for a nerd. BTW what does SPV stand for?

DGEX shows barely any snow for Cape Cod, MA on that snowfall map. Is it because of the track or is it because the model is not a high resolution model?

BTW I think this has a track near 75w/37n and 40n/70w with the H5 low or SPV.

Too warm. Don't worry it's wrong.

I'm pretty much now convinced this is going to be a very cold winter wire to wire. If we can get alot of snow to go along with this cold...we could just possibly start thinking about mentioning this with some of the great ones like 76-77...93-94 etc... but we'll need to verify these next 2 snowstorms before we can get serious about that

I'll take the bold and call me in the morning.

Sub-Polar Vortex.

It shows that because the models is bad idea cobbled together out of egos and dipschittery - I dunno. Don't use it because it doesn't verify schitagainsthewall when it's already on there.

I find it just as likely that the 00z runs come back full fury, btw.

it seems we have been unlucky on several occasions thus far during this season. It will change and some will be sick of winter and snow.

Boston will have to dump it in the harbor again. Ray will trade in his car for a snowmobile. Pete will need to ride a yak out of his glen, and Tolland Ct will be battered with a succesion of 14" nusiance events

I really have been thinking about the cold winter thing, with the way things have gone I don't see any reason as to why the rest of the cold winter won't stay cold. It would be better though if we could start seeing more snow to come along with it.

I haven't read any of the threads over the past week or looked at models into great details and all but what I have read from people today I would seriously take this weekend's potential with great caution...everyone always seems to get so excited and starts swinging for the fences when were in the medium/long range...I mean virtually every threat we see in those ranges there is someone who will start going towards the extreme side of things.

My worry right now is that everything just gets it's act together too late. Like I said though, haven't read anything here really the past week so not sure if this has been discussed already or what.

Understood, I have many service members in my family and some of them made the ultimate sacrifice as well so I get where you're coming from. One of my closest friends has a son that was recently deployed to Afghanistan. It seems like just yesterday he was a 5 yo we were teaching how to ski. He's a bold guy but his dad said he's pretty freaked out right now. He's in a real hotspot on the Pakistan border, doesn't sound like fun. I'll refrain from poking fun at you via the Marine angle and just call you a total p*ssy for not wanting 3" of snow because you'll have to sweep your car off. This notwithstanding, your still ok in my book.lol

It's cool, Pete....I just get moody after not giving this place a break for a few....I'm sorry for the losses that your family suffered.
