Tropopause_Fold
The more I look at the 00z, the more I'm kind of meh with it. Too me, it screams a NJ special with a rotting band of snow for us. It's a repeat of last week. Until we have big hp north of us it's hard to get too excited.

Organizing Low
It was around 982mb I believe, but we had gusts to 50-60mph in that. Personally, my #1 storm. impressive, sounds like it was a classic for many in SNE from what i have read. crazy that it was in april. mustve been a pain in the azz to shovel. Agreed. not sure why SNE people would jump up and down about it verbatim. On the other hand, 99% chance it's too extreme -- temper it back a bit and it's perfect for us. Definitely nice to see a model run pull an extreme dig like this.

I think verbatim it would have a nice ccb for a time, but I don't jump for joy when I see what's depicted. Just look at H5 and the orientation of the surface isobars over PA and NJ. That would crush them.

mahk_webstah
Jeebus I just saw the updated HPC graphics. Day 4 has the sitting in South Jersey just east of PHilly and then Day 5 is 980 on the benchmark. Wow. We are well under 5 days here

Massive understatement. I wonder if there are reports about the number of heart attacks that day? I got a solid 2' of cement 12 miles west of boston. Despite the shoveling though, it was one of the all time great events no question.

OKpowdah
The Euro is more like Dr. Yes so far this winter. It has a thing for bombing mid level lows near Delmarva
Tropopause_Fold
In fact, looks like I'd get about 9'' on the Euro while NJ gets another 2 feet...horrible flashbacks. It would probably be a mod/hvy event in sne but it wouldn't give the extreme amounts one might initially expect. On the euro you can already see what you are saying...notice the prolonged expansive area of good midlevel RH to our sw
CoastalWx
I will say that after looking at euro 850-500 RH, it does have a good arc of mid level RH overhead. One could hope it stalls that band over us, like what happened up in nw Maine in the last storm. All I'm saying is that it has the look of a classic nw of the low "dump" if you will. Right now I'd be more concerned it's a miss/light event than worrying about the ma cashing in. We will see how it goes.

Ginx snewx
Pretty funny stuff, had to come into work on my day off today to do some payroll stuff for the New Year. My cache on the Euro was showing the 96 hour run from Christmas Eve, I refreshed it and very little changed, almost a carbon copy, then the 216 did the same from the 21st run, I refreshed it and again carbon copy. That was some incredible run last night of the Euro, I think Pete Repete comes to mind.
