I was just pondering the idea..but your chart proves the theory of global warming is hog wash.

Records have only been taken for xzy years. It seems the last decade match early records regards avg snowfall.

I don't think changes in snowfall prove or disprove global warming, per se.

As you stated pure averages, do not take into account any official "smoothing" of the raw #'s

NCDC isn't supposed to do that. In case you are wondering why the official numbers for 1971-2000 are so different, its because the 1996 numbers were not part of their datasets officially when the normals were computed. Send all thank you notes for that "woops" to your nearest ASOS ;)

DEC: 3.6"

JAN: 6.5"

FEB: 8.5" (thank you 2010)

MAR: 2.8"

APR: 0.5"

AVG: 22.2"

these are raw averages from 81-10...

(edited to correct data)

Here's Central Park NYC for 1981-2010:

NOV: 0.3"

DEC: 4.8"

JAN: 7.0"

FEB: 9.2"

MAR: 3.9"

APR: 0.6"

TOTAL: 25.8"

Compare to 1971-2000:

NOV: 0.4"

DEC: 2.6"

JAN: 7.3"

FEB: 7.9"

MAR: 3.6"

APR: 0.5"

TOTAL: 22.3"

Here's just the 2001-2010 period:

NOV: T

DEC: 8.5"

JAN: 6.5"

FEB: 13.3"

MAR: 3.5"

APR: 0.4"

TOTAL: 32.2"
