NorthShoreWx
OKX is down for the day but you can see it on KEWR TDWR. Yup. I saw a little of it on OKX radar before it went down. Unfortunately, I'm east of the area shown on the KEWR TDWR map.

I just had a little burst of flakes here as well. Decent sized, too.
Ridingtime
Unprecedented light snow flakes falling now. Falling slowly and lightly, and beautiful to look at. Nothing on the radar either. I always like surprise snow

NorthShoreWx
Temperature here is 30 and falling slowly. I was surprised that we didn't get above freezing today. I was expecting a few degrees warmer.
NorthShoreWx
I was a little late with the camera and the photo doesn't really do it justice, but there was a pretty nice wintertime sunset a short time ago. The clouds from the earlier flurries have thinned quite a bit.:
NorthShoreWx
Still not capturing what I perceived, but maybe this one is a little better. Basically it stuck me as a cold looking winter sunset with orange and purplish colors around some altocumulus on the western horizon, the type of evening followed by snow the next day. Classic look to my biased eye, albeit no science behind that connection.

Currently 26.4/19...did anyone say something about a warm winter this year? They did but they've been dead wrong. It's been great so far man. The snow of last year plus some real arctic cold this winter. My high here just snuck above freezing, 32.8F. 18 now.

My high here just snuck above freezing, 32.8F. 18 now. The source may have been arctic, but if so its been highly modified. There has been nothing more than run of the mill cold stuff. The departures from normal are becasue there's been a lot of it, but nothing exceptionally cold. Any teens to date have been on good radiational nights. With a breeze, there hasn't been much lower than low- mid 20s on the coastal plain at night. Its really the daytime temps that have seen the greatest departures from normal. NorthShoreWx
It's still partly sunny here. Been that way all morning. 0Z NAM show a real good hit for the extreme east end for round 2 Saturday night. Could be an interesting weekend for much of Suffolk County though. I'm not convinced yet that someone doesn't get under a more significant band today for long enough to do some damage. Someone else is going to be dissapointed with just a half inch. ArtRosen
Screwed again! While other places got two feet of snow, I barely got a foot last time! This time, it wasn't even cold enough for the snow to stick! I think the snow gods must be angry at me or something.

NorthShoreWx
2.4" here. I can't wait to see some reports from around Wallingford. I'm expecting some 12" totals in Northern New Haven. The Norlun thing was for real, it just chose to linger about 30 or 40 miles NE of where central LI needed it.

nzucker
High of 28.5F after a low of 18.1F here in Dobbs Ferry...Winter 2010-11 continues its theme of below average temperatures and above normal snowfall. I went for a hike today in the nature preserve behind the town reservoir, and the ice was many inches thick on the reservoir. I've rarely seen it frozen so deeply, and it's been frozen partially since very early December. This is very impressive for a place with average highs in the mid-upper 40s in early December, and average highs around 36/37F in January. The reservoir, surrounded by snow-coated firs, was gorgeous this afternoon with the occasional flurry dancing about and a steely, grey look to the winter sky.
