cold&cloudy
I think the snow pack will keep temperatures from reaching 50 F. 40s in all likelihood. Still mild enough to give the heater a break and open the windows.
Isotherm
I'm literally watching the temp drop a tenth every 5 seconds here. Was 37.4 at 430 and I'm down to 27.3 already. Deep snow pack can do wonders w/ radiational cooling.

nzucker
32.5/24 Expecting lows around 20F. Temperatures should drop rapidly the next few nights which will help freeze the snowpack and protect it against the coming warmth.

Most areas near 32 F.. http://www.meteo.psu...APA_18z/f72.gif I'm not a real believer in this being a torch. I'm thinking one day of 45-50 which isn't even that far above normal for late December, maybe +10 for a single day. Chance of rain changing to snow with the cold front, an opportunity to refresh the snowpack. Rain will not be heavy with the surface low so far to the west in Minnesota. Once the front comes through, GFS shows the next 10 days with 850s around -8C to -12C, plenty below average and plenty cold for snow.

Isotherm
13.8 right now in Colts Neck, first time I remember being on par with MJX in the Pine Barrens; they're reporting 14F. Coldest night of the season thanks to snowpack, and let's see if I can make a run at 10 or lower. Looks like I'm one of the coldest spots in NJ right now. Looks like the mid levels will bear the brunt of this WAA from the monster storm in the plains....
